Akron was extremely motivated, they defended the option well, they had a mobile QB that caused some problems early. Rourke had his worst game, the defense was really bad in the first half. This team had weaknesses, they all showed up in one game, when that happens against a good opponent, you lose. Beat Buffalo and it's a solid season even without a championship (although, it's not impossible Kent beats Akron, they're keeping it closer every week). But maybe not good enough for most. He will go 9-3 this year for the Cats. He went 9-3 for Nebraska and got fired. Tell me who U want for next year? His D coordinator who couldn’t stop Akron or the O coordinator who sucks? I think he truly cares about the program and I think he's sticking around as much to finish up the facility improvements which will be maxed out (as far as what this program is going to get) once 2019 hits. I can remember when he thought the IPF wouldn't happen and now its been done for 4 years. Sook donation happened in 2014. I believe that is mostly what he's been hanging around for to see through completion of facility projects. He is not waiting on any building to be built, the man geniunly still enjoys coaching and working with kids. Nothing more and nothing less.
