Our defensive backs need to turn to see the ball in coverage and stop face guarding. Face guarding contributed to at least two of the touchdowns and should have yielded two PI calls. The db's also need communicate better, there have been way too many blown coverages. It might help if they yell ball or pass when the ball is in the air. The DB coach needs to make these adjustments or the head coach needs to make an adjustment. The outside linebackers need to contain the edges. We also need to cut down on missed tackles. Nobody should be wagging their finger if they are giving up touchdowns.
Offensively, Rourke has been good for most of the year, but lately he has forced a lot of throws, especially the last two weeks. Akron and Toledo dropped 4 potential interceptions. He needs to watch more film and value each possession. Coach him up, do not let him to unravel like TT. The wide receivers need to do more, they need to take better angles to make db's go through them to get underneath the coverage. We need to play faster wide receivers, I don't know what happened to Cam Odom and the offensive coordinator needs to remember a term that Grobe initially coined FIDO (Forget it and Drive on). If we throw an interception, we cannot just completely abandon the pass. We need to be aggressive.
Finally, the coordinators need to do a lot better, they need to be micromanaged. I don't want to hear stability and continuity, what has it gotten us. Albin has been substandard for a long time and we have overlooked Burrow's decline. Akron did not have on play for over 50 yards all season until they played us, we gave up 50 points to Umass and 40+ to Purdue Let's go Cats, this is the only way forward. We need more discipline starting at the top.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

I did notice this as well. Seems like the DBs don't even realize the ball is in the air, and a quick head turn or a callout from teammates from coaches when the pass is thrown could help. The DBs have great positioning, so it is disappointing that an adjustment like that can cost at least two TDs and a few PIs instead of INTs or incompletions.

How Allen with his vast knowledge and coaching ability is not a DI defensive back coach right now is truly puzzling. I mean, this guy could be making a difference working with kids making them NFL ready and NCAA Champions year in and year out....And making a lot more money.

Thanks Billy the Cat. this isn't about me or you, this is about the team. I am a fan just as you are, we are allowed to be critical. This is not an Ohio pep rally.

I'm being serious, with your knowledge of the technique and the ability to relate to kids, and make 19/20 year olds do everything you've ever told/coached them to do, you would be a rock-star in the coaching ranks. Geesh, a person can not even give you a compliment.

I'm actually licensed to perform weddings in Ohio. Just let me know. My fee can usually be paid via beer and/our certain type of bourbon.
