So I couldn't bring myself to get back on the board until today after the loss to Akron. I've read alot of the posts and what I've come to is that as a program we need to find a way to have a complete year. It seems every year that we have one side of the ball as a strength and the other as a weakness. Which means you can be good, but never great. Because you have games like last night where your strength may fail you a bit and your weakness bites you in the ass too.

I hear people complaining about the coaching and I have too. But we have seen the good that they can do, like this year on offense scoring at a 38pt per game clip. However we have a rookie starter and his mistakes can undo a lot of that when they coalesce. For the defense just last year they were the main reason for us winning games, but this year we have a weakened secondary that is just killing us. Between it and the last minute change to a backup but talented QB further hurt us. I find it hard to praise game planning against Toledo to then just throw spew hate the next week. For sure the coaches and the players needed to do better but I would feel two-faced to have such a quick turnabout on them.

I'm not sure what the answer is to fixing this. Like some have said it might be time for a fresh start. But on the other hand we have seen what fresh starts can do to other programs. I'm in a place where I can live with what we have, good bowl-eligible teams. But I want to take the next step in being a team that wins MACC games and has a winning record against other winning record teams. I'm sure many others here are with me in this feeling and I don't fault others for wanting to take a risk to be better than this. In the end though all we can do is root for our school and support it the best we can. Go Bobcats.

I have to agree with you. While I am impressed with the Quarterback change, and play. (at times) all areas could stand for room of improvement. I'm not so sure if I'm ready to throw the towel in with what we have. GEESH, We praise them 1 week, then they're the bottom of the barrel the next week. I'm sorry, I want a win as well, but I'm not so ready to throw the towel in on a team who actually has a better record then last year. Yes the UMASS game was a high scoring game, but we won....Ok, we feel defense failed us because it was a high scoring game. The CMU game, ok, there were wayyyy too many turnovers on offense, so we'll say , offense failed us. They don't always make smart decisions, but for the most part defense may have gave up some yards on a touchdown pass last week, but I also saw defense stop a touchdown in the red zone that resulted in just a field goal. Should we have gone for it on 4th and goal...HECK YEAH.....that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Were they shutting AJ down, HECK YEAH....Its not his fault, switch it up. They the saw the film, they knew our predictable plays. ANYWAY, that's my opinion....GO OHIOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The staff brings in a couple of 3 star JUCO corner and we could be looking at 10-1 instead of 8-3 and the Brad Ellis show. The staff is too loyal and it burns them when they do stuff like name Maxwell the starter and it turns into an insult when he's not playing the whole season after the second game. Remember the infatuation with Daz or Beau up the middle? 13 years and the bs is getting real old.

Yeah, the fact that we're not 10-1, puts a pit in my stomach....Perdue...um maybe, but those other 2, I'm still in shock.

I’m not a fan of the QB is OK at times comment.

Tell me who we can get or could get who has been or will be better than Nathan Rourke?

Yeah passing can improve. Can you say play calling and dropped passes?

OU fans because of coaching or ignorance or whatever have a hard time supporting one of OUr best

QBs ever.

But that’s OU Football fans.....never were any good...never gonna happen ever..

Same for me on getting over that choke job. Hard to understand this many fails over the years just when we need to reach another level. The CMU Game had me steamed as well. I went down for that game and almost expected a tank but hoped for better.

Now here we are...ugh. I love Rourke and see nothing but awesome things in the future with him and many others. The DB's, outside of Hagan, not so much. For some reason I thought the "baptism by fire" the last two years would yield better man-to-man coverage capabilities.

Good Lord! I sure did not choose to go to Ohio based solely on their football prowess, which is, obviously, a good thing, especially since I went to school in the early eighties. I spent some time at the Ohio State Alumni gatherings during the eighties and nineties in Los Angeles as well (don't ask), and I was shocked at how pathetic a lot of those fans acted. It appeared that the quality of their lives depended solely on how the Buckeyes were doing week to week. Likewise, I remember when Alabama came to the Rose Bowl for the National Championship game a couple of years ago, and how a lot of those fans that I interacted with were just not very fun at all; in fact, they seemed downright miserable in their dominance. (Don't even get me started on USC fans!) The point is that going to a football powerhouse usually comes with some sort of bizarre entitlement issues, which are a recipe for a lot of misery, especially in the fall. The fun thing about Ohio fans is that they have always had the capacity of continuing to rock the house, even if our guys are laying an egg on the field.

Listen, I will take my academic achievements, party school reputation, kick ass good memories, and some come to expect Ohio Athletics related disappointments over any 5 million dollar snake oil college coach or program any day of the week. Can you imagine what Buckeye fans are going through right now after being out of the National Championship picture after the loss to Oklahoma, back again after beating Penn State, out again after having their butts kicked by Iowa, and now back in it again after destroying Michigan State?!?! Good God, I don't want anything to do with that kind of madness. (Knowing that program, they will beat up on Wisconsin, only get destroyed again in the playoffs by Clemson.)

PS: Even if Akron represents the East in the Championship game, Toledo is not going to be able to live down our total shellacking of them for a long time to come. Therefore, who is really the best in the MAC, Jack?!?!

I think the answer's pretty obvious. Our last conference title? 1968. The Convo opened in what year? 1968.

Clearly, we disturbed the burial mound of some Adena shaman in the Convo construction, and his curse has haunted us since.

Just watch: Kron will lose to Kent, but our entire O line will get food poisoning from a bad batch of chicken wings, and we'll lose Friday, because Ohio football isn't allowed to have good things.
