Is Monroe suspended for some reason? This board is lacking without him so I hope he is back soon even if I disagree with some of his opinions.

I convinced him I was a Football God and told him it was 100% certain Ohio would beat Toledo in the 2017 MAC Football Championship. He simply has nothing left to say now.

We suck under Solich, and will always suck under Solich. The only thing that matters in life is a MACC. (I don't miss reading that every day)

We pulled the plug on Monroe. Enough was enough.

Thanks Ted! I can still recite the drivel in my sleep "over and over". Don't need reminders from him anymore - I still got it!

Well, that certain explains that. LOL. Although I strangely admit, I'm going to miss reading "hasn't won a MACC" attached to every single post he produced. What a coincidence its going to be when Ohio actually does win it the same year he was snuffed out.

Sad for you maybe. I'm not sad, he never had much positive to say about Ohio football.

Unlike college campuses, where there is a right to free speech, BA is not a governmental function. It is a business, and if the number of posts and ad/page views on BA drops, that cuts into the revenue, which means that Ted, Jeff, and Ryan have to fund it out of their own pocket.

During the last few years, the number of posts, visitors, and page views to BA has dropped substantially, and that no doubt means BA has a lot less revenue than before, and my guess is that now it is probably losing money. In my opinion, the people that fund BA out of their own pockets have a right to take whatever actions they see fit in an attempt to recreate the friendly atmosphere that once existed on BA. I don't know why they "pulled the plug", but if it was for business reasons, I don't think any of us have a right to complain.

[Note: For those that use an ad blocker, I hope they turn it off on BA].

I think it's more sad that he helped run off a lot of good/frequent/thoughtful posters here, and make a place a lot of us enjoy far less enjoyable. Hopefully a few make their way back in time.

Thanks Ted! Thanks Ted! His constant negative remarks ruined it for many on this website.

So I guess the Bobcat Black seats will go the way of Gman's open invitation to tailgate?

Pretty much so. Sad and short sighted but neither you nor I have the ability to take our ball and go home.

Of course we all always have the option of taking our ball, and going home. Just as dozens or hundreds of other posters have left in the past, we all have the option to cease posting at any time. Alternately, we can seek out other Bobcat boards (yes, there are some). Or, as a third option, I'm sure you can find a way to host your own forum. Or, you can make your views known via social media. Yet another option would be to come up with a group of investors and offer to buy BA from Ted, Jeff, and Ryan. There are no doubt many, many more options.

And, of course, we also have the option of staying here, and seeing what happens. Will the forum become busier? Or, will it continue to shrink?

Personally I've always gotten along with Monroe, and he never bothered me, but I know that he did bother a lot of people. That is the sad part. There is no reason he couldn't have voiced his opinion without trying to cram it down people's throats by thread-jacking over and over again. I suggested to him more than once that he make a thread about the importance to him of a MACC, and continue to bump it, rather than thread-jacking, but it fell on deaf ears.

I have 3 friends who stopped coming to the board in the last year due to all of the negativity on this board. The sad part is that in the last year, they clearly have somewhat disconnected from OU, as the BA board was their main source of engagement to the university. You could argue that they could have found other sources to do that. To me it shows how important this board is, not just for discussion of sports and other topics, but for a source of news and connecting to fellow alumni. I'm all for lively discussion and differences of opinion, but this board plays more than just as a forum for athletics.

I bid $18.04.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Amen. Where else do you get comments about bike lanes on East State Street, the price of a hamburger on Tuesday before 8 at McDonalds and military strategy and social engagement during the War of Northern Aggression all of the same board?

I never understood why people just didn't exercise restraint. No one is forcing anyone to either A) read his post or B) respond to them.

But it was like people were addicts. They just couldn't lay off. Perfect example....this thread and it's title.

While I might not have agreed with everything he said .... I think it's sad that anyone that doesn't have a super-duper positive outlook on all things Bobcat football are looked at as traitors or enemies.

There are plenty of bizarro-Monroe's on this board that are way over the top with their drooling over Solich and this program.

To me, they are more annoying than Monroe ever was.

But I choose to ignore them at times and I'm okay with that.

Everyone is entitled their opinion ... even if it is blasted over and over and over and over again. Pretty easy just to skip over it and move on with your day. But seems that folks just took the bait all the time with him thinking THEY WERE GOING TO BE THE ONE TO CHANGE HIS MIND/SHUT HIM UP. At some point, you just have to let it go.

Sad it came to banning him from this site.
