Some and also yours truly were concerned about OL depth. McCray and Wood go down so we lose the entire right side of the line. In steps 6'8"-340 RT sophomore Austin Pleasants and RG 6'3"-290 true freshmen Hagen Meservey and you have an effective right side. The left with Anderson and Lowery have been effective all year. To add more green kool aid to the fire let it be known that true freshman Brett Kitrell from NE has also played well. The cream on top may be that the Albanian Bear true freshman Jylton Tusha was the most highly rated of the freshman and he still has his redshirt. Meservy especially stands out..he mauled a guy from his RG position on Browns long run..,kid plays mean. The more Rourke plays, the more he becomes familiar with the offense, and with the receivers, and the faster he will get with those reads. Let's wait and see where we stand after the next couple games. Miami has one of the better defenses in the MAC, and Toledo has probably the best offense in the MAC. If Ohio can put 30+ points on Miami, then I'd say that the offense has improved from where they were against EMU, another good defense. After the excellent offensive lines of 2011-12 had numerous injuries in 2012, by the end of the year, the cupboard was bare. The line in 2013 was not good, and really hurt the 2013 team (though some here blamed the problems on TT). When Johnson arrived in 2014, what he had to work with was not good, and he had to recruit new players, and coach the players he had up. It hasn't been perfect, and he's recruited his fair share of players who haven't contributed, but he seems to keep getting better, and seeing two true Freshmen playing this year, with one starting and doing very well, I see the future as very bright. Well, Preuhs was the last true freshman to start, and the only one I remember in recent history. McCray also played as a true Freshman that year, 2014. As I remember, Pruehs and Lowery were regular starters and McCray started a little, too. I had no clue we could lose very good starters and still have a great offensive line. With the early development of our young guys, our line is now well-positioned for the foreseeable future. Of everything Frank has done, I truly believe our consistent pipeline of offensive lineman (including a lot of 5th year lineman) is why Ohio has a very high floor. When we can consistently win the run-blocking battle against MAC teams (and even a lot of our P5 opponents) we aren't going to get completely blown out of many games. I've seen crazier things happen. This isn't specific to Ohio, but I am amazed the Participation Report (who played in the game) isn't more detailed considering how popular football is and how big of a push for analytics there is across sports. I've seen crazier things happen.
