Interesting stat on Miami's games so far:

Miami winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd by 22, then losing the 4th by 29.

It looks like this is tailor-made for OHIO's wear 'em down strategy as evidenced in recent games.

A sign of how Ohio's offense has improved over last year:

Last year, in 14 games Zervos kicked 35 PATs and 29 FGs.

This year, in 8 games he's already kicked 38 PATs and only 10 FGs.

We're getting 6s instead of 3s.

Fiami has one of the stingiest defenses in the MAC -- they're giving up just 20 pts/game in MAC play -- but BG hit them for 37 on the road. And even with Ragland, they've topped 30 pts just twice in eight games -- 31 vs Austin Peay and CMU. We score 30 and we should win.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

This should be the last year we have to deal with the ghosts of Oct 27 2012. A young recruit visits Oxford, recruited by, and on the fence between, Ohio and Fiami. Ranked and unbeaten Bobcats lay an egg and lose to the Redchickens. Heath Harding from Dayton Christian is now their best defensive player.

Moral of the story - winning is more fun than losing - should have come to Athens, Heath.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I hate those guys.

Harding was out against Buffalo. Not sure if he'll be back for Ohio.

Where is Ragland out now? I know it was a lower body injury but is he week to week?

In Martin's press conference, he said that if the game was tomorrow then Ragland wouldn't play. However, he said the original timeline was 3-4 weeks and so there's a chance he could play. And that he's not saying that just to throw Ohio off. I would guess if he's not practicing by the end of the week, then he won't be back. Need Doc to get in the Solich Soarer and fly over Oxford.

Let me attach the wind room and I could give it a shot.

Don't you think it would have been fun/funny to get a sponsor to print out paper "masks" of famous ESPN personalities to wear during the Halloween game on ESPN? That would certainly make the SportsCenter/interweb rounds...

The suck must be bad this year. I've been having wind gusts up to 50 mph blowing east all day today out here in western Illinois. A good omen, perhaps?

I actually listened to the Martin Press Conference. It sounds like Ragland may go next Tuesday.

The weather looks decent. Clear evening in the 40's. 8 from Columbus area coming down. Hoping the BLACK OUT theme brings some students out.

Beat Fiami.

We're going to build a bar and make Miami pay for it.

I'm sure someone has complained about this elsewhere on the board, but I haven't seen it. I am super salty they put my favorite game of the year on Halloween night. Anyone with kids 0-13 are going to pick trick or treat memories over football, right? I suppose local families still have time to do both, but me coming from Columbus there is no way. Even without kids, most who live in a neighborhood like to stay home to enjoy the visitors, right? Or am I just way over-rating trick or treat's significance on the average American family?

On a related note, I have 4 tickets on the 30 yard line and a parking pass available for cheap.

I also find this to suck. I still might make the game, since I took the kids TorT solo last year. Their mom can handle it this year :)

For better or worse, the tv gods control things. Hope a good student turnout deflects from the awful empty stands on the tower side.

Edit: that said, the last time we had a Saturday game that fell on Court Street Halloween day, the attendance was just awful. So, might as well put it on Tuesday and get on TV.

I'm with you Andrew. As a father of 10 and 12-year olds, no way I miss Halloween. I accepted the role TV has in sports many moons ago. If fans were a bigger revenue stream than TV, things would be the other way around. Fortunately, Trick or Treat ends at 8, so I can meet up with some guys at a sports bar and watch it. Would love to be there and have 4 free tickets and a parking pass for anyone that can.
