I have to figure Toledo, a 10 point winner over Northern Illinois, is a prohibitive favorite to win this game. Ohio’s offense should be able to keep Ohio in the game. It’s Ohio’s defense that has me concerned. Unless OUr secondary steps up its game, I think Woodside will have a field day. Ohio has to bring pressure on Woodside by any means possible.

I would guess that we have a punchers chance if we don't turn the ball over. It should be a high scoring game if we don't. An extra couple days rest and being a home game are other positives that I see. Maybe we can hope for rain/snow to slow them down.

Snow doubtful... Rain possible

Weather calls for 49 degrees, 60% rain right now.

I'd say Toledo is -6? Maybe -8

Will be interesting if Albin can press the right buttons like he did last year. Defense will certainly be tested ... especially secondary

Toledo is not perfect and had some mistakes vs NIU last night but Woodside is going to be a challenge for which Burrow will hopefully dial up some blitzes and find a way to leave someone back to help out with the deep ball and either force errors and tipped passes or force them to throw underneath. I suspect we could get into a shootout on this one. In other words, if we pin them on their 1 yard line, lets make sure we don't get burned for 89 yards as happened to NIU last night.

Plus, not sure how much this matters, but it is the last time the Seniors will play at Peden which might bring a little more meaning to several of the starters.

I'm also wondering if Solich and company will be opening the playbook all the way or holding something back now that it appears we will be playing Toledo in the MACC if we beat Akron and Buffalo and losing to Toledo next week doesn't hurt us in our quest for a MACC. Conversely, a Toledo loss doesn't hurt them except in their quest for a better bowl game, assuming they can get by Ohio in the MACC game.

That will be 4 games in 19 days for the rockets. I'm hoping that means a fatigued Toledo O-line to help our pass rush. If we take away the big plays we should keep it close. Wear them down and let Zervos kick the game winner.

We're going to have our hands full. Toledo is a legit team and score lights out. That said, just because Miami (Florida) is the only team to beat them doesn't mean you have to be in the Top 10 to beat Toledo, NIU was very much in this game until the latter half of the 4th. That said and don't take this the wrong way - I'd rather beat Toledo in the MACC than defeat Toledo this Wednesday only to lose to them on December 2nd.

My guess is Toledo -7.5. Could be a slugfest.

Toledo is a strong team for sure. They gave The U a decent game into the second half.

If we can take care of business against our remaining East opponents, I don't see this as a MUST WIN game but it would sure would take away some pressure.
Akron has three decently challenging games left with Miami, OU and Kent State who always plays them tough and could pull an upset. Beating Akron I think is more significant than Toledo to win the East.

I think whoever wins the East will get Toledo in Detroit so this will give us a good idea of where the Cats stack up.

Is anyone coming back from injury that could have an impact on the game?

Obviously you want to win every game.
That being said,I don't think you show everything in your "bag of tricks" in case we do make the MAC Championship Game and have face Toledo agian.

The other thing that will come into playe, whichever team wins,is the additional motivation to avenge a loss.

Great point. As long as our offense is serviceable I think the outcome of this game will hinge on whether or not our DEs can rush Woodside consistently. If they can't they'll drive on us and probably put up 40.

The trend I've noticed is that our DEs struggle to get to the QB in the first half and improve in the second half. Let's hope Toledo's O-line is indeed at a bit of a disadvantage due to fatigue!

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Toledo has a tough D -- they're giving up just 16 pts a game in the MAC. And we haven't scored well vs the West -- just 23 vs CMU and 27 (13 in regulation) vs EMU. We'll probably have to win while scoring only in the 20s.

We will get by.

The only way we win this game is if two key things happen:
1. Rourke doesn't commit a single turnover. He has to hold onto the ball and make accurate throws.
2. Our DBs play ON THE BALL instead of 10 yards off. If Fox, Ellis, Hagan, Gullett et. al. come to play and cover up then we'll hang but if Woodside is allowed to pick us apart we are in trouble. Our D-line doesn't have the Bashams this year to get to Woodside.

Toledo is still #29, if you count "others receiving votes", in the AP Poll.

Toledo opens a 6 point favorite. Now the big question. Will the over/under be over 70?

TeamRankings shows Ohio with a 42.7% chance of winning. ESPN shows Ohio with a 45% chance. I like Ohio's chances a little better than that, this time around, as Ohio will have the fresher legs. Ohio gets an extra day after Miami, and had a couple extra days before that one, while Toldeo is playing on a short week.

6 is exactly the number I expected. Let's see if it moves. I'm guessing O/U around 72.

Fresh legs are great but the question is how to keep Diontae Johnson from going all Corey Davis on us.

I have no doubt Toledo will get 4-500 yards, and 30+ points. The question for me is, can Ohio outscore them. I see MACtion...

Well Cody Thompson won’t, he’s out for the year, broke his leg vs EMU. That was a major loss for Toledo.

In other MAC news from Vegas, Miami is a 5 point favorite to beat Akron.

+++ - And Plus anyone else on the TO's....If we can win the TO ratio by a couple OUr chances Greatly improve.

I commented all game long vs Fiami - WHY are we playing so far off the receivers???? Make them get open - not let 'em have it that way from the get go every play.....Some risk may be the smart way to go - and give the DB's opportunity to step up to make the receivers get open on them...

If we can stop the run with our front seven, then we should be able to keep both safeties back to help our corners. Defensive discipline will be the key to beating Toledo. My only fear is giving up too much info to the rockets before our MACC meeting. I would be fine keeping it real vanilla and losing, as long as we can beat Akron and Buffalo.

Hmmm...Toledo board is silent about a game with the East leader in two days...except for one user who posts links to Frank's press conference and other official releases, and gets no replies...

Very curious indeed.
