What did everyone think of the new features at Peden? I personally thought the sound system sounded a little muffled. The scoreboard looked really nice, but I think it need to be up higher. Just my opinion. I appreciate the effort athletics makes to enhance our experience.

I think they are both tremendous upgrades over what we had. I"m excited for the Sook center to be finished, as it will really enhance the look of Peden in my opinion! The weight room is being expanded and upgraded over winter break. And from what I know, when Sook is completed, the 4th floor of Peden will be turned into a players lounge. All of this is going to help the program going forward. I'm excited and optimistic about the future of Bobcat football!

Comments of two 1981 grads sitting next to me on the scoreboard. Really can't see anything but the ads.

As for the sound system, it's still out of phase and no matter how good the sound, the choice of music affects what people think.

It's certainly an upgrade on the scoreboard.

Agree on being able to read stuff. Super small text on scores, etc.

Would love more replays.

I'm guessing they're flying by the seat of their pants considering the timing of the install... or at least that's what I'm hoping.

Hopefully they'll smooth things out and really utilize it to the best

The weight room is being expanded? Which direction? Second level?

The down and distance information is infinitesimal.

The new scoreboard is certainly an improvement to what we had in the past. It is nice to see some scores of other games put up there occasionally. It would be really great, however, if you could let us know if it is a final, halftime, 3rd quarter, etc. score rather than just posting a score. I would think that would be an easy fix. I also enjoyed seeing the 110's halftime show on the board and some of the replays. It would be nice to see more replays done throughout the game, especially on big "chunk" plays. I still think the University needs to do more to get the fans sitting in the stands involved in the game. Is doing an occasional camera shot in the stands not possible? Catch those fans who are exhibiting game day spirit and maybe it'll catch on with others in the stands. Surely there are enough creative minds there who can come up with something.
I did notice and appreciated a much-improved sound system. While I may not always agree with the music selections before the game, I could really tell a difference when the Singing Men of Ohio sang. It could be clearly heard throughout the stadium. I don't know that that has ever been the case with our previous sound system. Aside from a few glitches with the sound system during the game it was a welcome improvement.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I do hope the "powers that be' can find additional funding (private, IMG, etc.) to put another scoreboard on top of the completed Sook Center. I would think a well-designed board could be placed there that wouldn't distract from the new facility or the overall look of Peden.

My guess is that a big scoreboard that high up would be met with loud protests from the citizens of Athens. That comment is based on having lived here for 38 years and watched the local activists in action.

Citizens of Athens would protest why? Because of cost or some aesthetic aspect??

Probably both plus view sheds, city code (sign ordinance), and an anti OU and anti-athletics bias. To this day I have a hard time understanding how people who made a very good living at OU for 30+ years despise the university. Do I agree with everything that happens at OU - absolutely not but OU provided a very good salary and world class benefits to my wife for 36 years and continues to provide a ton of amenities for free or little cost to those of us who choose to take advantage of them on a weekly basis.

The new scoreboard is great. The replays shown yesterday were visible. I am sure they are getting used to all of the things it can do. I appreciate the effort to get it done, along with the new sound system. Much improved from the old setup.

Yes they would protest, but only on days of the week ending in "y"

I remarked how hard it was to read down & distance from the opposite side of the stadium. Obviously that could (and should) be remedied. Agreed on replays, etc. I'm also hoping they'll gradually improve on utilizing it better.

I like the sound system upgrade. I can actually hear what Lou is saying, again from the opposite side of the stadium. Music...well, that'll be a never ending debate on this board.

If you were at the Eastern Michigan game, you probably wouldn't think our music selections were so bad...
