He broke his finger and is out for 3 weeks.

I could be wrong, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think a Joey Burrow is a type of adolescent kangaroo that lives in a subterranean hole/tunnel/nest that it digs for itself. ;)

I have much respect that he went for it big time in going to OSU. Dude "swung for the fences" as they say. Much respect for that.

But, also a bummer that it is not working out for him in terms of playing time, the experience of being a "star" college athlete at a school, and a shot of an NFL career.

Arkley made good comment ..... wondered if Burrow graduates next year, he'd have possibility of two grad transfer years.

That could provide him the opportunity to go elsewhere for a couple seasons and maybe still realize those dreams mentioned above

He is on track to graduate next summer. How about three years of graduate eligibility with a medical redshirt 6th year? Talk about opening a can of worms. Also the belittlng of a local Athens kid doesn't go over too well with those on this board from the Athens area.

It did cross my mind that he may end up transferring out if he slips too far behind the other quarterbacks on the roster. If he comes to Athens I would welcome it with open arms but if he decides to go somewhere else then best wishes to him (unless it's Marshall or Miami LOL).

From what I've heard from my friends within the program there is he's got a good shot at starting next year. That said, the reps that Haskins and Martell are about to get could open pandora's box.

Burrow is more in the mode of JT Barrett, Haskins is a passer and Martell is rising, but Burrow has him beat. Burrow would have probably been the back up because OSU does not have to change the plays and he has actual game experience, but Haskins has a gun and is probably the best passer. We will see what comes of this. If Haskins plays and looks great, I would think about transferring, because Burrow has NFL ability.

Here is a great article comparing him to Trubisky

That's the thing. I think he probably was backup QB, but by a very tiny margin. Now not being able to play for a few weeks could put him in a spot where he gets passed and never regains his spot. But maybe not. It's only a few weeks.

Where does this few weeks come from? What I've read is that it's indefinite. How did he break whatever he broke? Helmet? Hit? Fall on it?

I meant the first three week's of the season and I based it off of this article. It should be indefinite becauseit is his throwiung hand and they should not rush something like this.

If you've ever studied the Kevin Wilson offense you'll quickly discover he loves the guys with big arms. Very fast-paced offense with big arms to sling the ball around the field. That consists from his time at Northwestern-Oklahoma all the way until the Sudfeld kid a few years ago at Indiana. Burrow fits that offense like a glove. No way he transfers anywhere. When he throws for 3000+ yards you'll see. Very QB friendly offense with easy reads

One man's analysis of the Ohio A&M QB situation. He speculates that the result might be a Burrow transfer; however, IMHO, if this happened, he would not transfer to OHIO. Maybe Nebraska, or even Youngstown State.

Here's the article:

http://tinyurl.com/ydc8bcnw

Key Quote about transfer possibilities:

"The assumption that the loser in this quarterback battle would transfer out of the program is a real thing. Urban Meyer admitted as much at Big Ten media days. That's not a prediction that Burrow will transfer. He's never talked about that, and I don't want to play fast and loose with a player's future. But let's also acknowledge a reality of college football: Guys want to play, and that's compounded at quarterback, where only one guy is going out there."

He may or may not go to Ohio. Ohio would be a good choice and I reiterate He is not too good for Ohio. He saw two players get drafted last year. On a side note, Ohio State needs to do a better job of raising their student athletes, from the Ezekiel Elliot allegations and the alledged snowball pelting, they are not doing that great of job of turning their players into men. Some of us elders have to also realize that stars are in the sky, we don't need to be cleaning a football players room. Truth be told, Burrow is best suited for OSU's current offense because he can run and pass, but Hoskins by far is the most talented passer.

I agree, Burrow isn't too good for Ohio....he's WAY too good for Ohio! He has already played football in Athens for several years, it was called high school. Him coming back to Athens, Ohio to play college football would be a crime and a waste of his talents. Joe Burrow is like (Good) Will Hunting. He's sitting on a winning lottery ticket. The kid has trememdous game and can play about anywhere in the country that he wants to go (the sky is the limit). He's current battling for the #2 spot (injury aside) for the #2 ranked team in the country. Think about that for a second. He could be in line to start....START...at Ohio State next season. Think about that for a second! He's part of a program that contends and completes for NATIONAL Championships and plays in major bowl games. Not for one playing in bowls hardly anyone know about or cares about. Burrow coming back to Athens would be like Will Hunting sticking around Southie hammering blocks at a demo site. It would be a total waste of his time, ability and potential. If OSU ultimately isn't in his future then so be it. Then he should go elsewhere if that's the case. But if "elsewhere" ever became Athens, Ohio, then Ben Affleck is gonna come there and kick his ass!

I don't think he's coming back to Athens, as I said earlier in this thread, but your analysis is more than a little lame. If the MAC had produced no NFL QBs, there might be some validity in what you say, but that's not the case. Big Ben went directly from the MAC to the Super Bowl without passing Go.

Also, Joe Burrow isn't coming to Ohio b/c Malik Zaire is gonna be next year's starter.
