They've lost their five games by 35 total pts (seven per game) and lost at Tenn by just four. Granted, the opposition hasn't been that great but they keep games close and can beat you if you're not careful. Our guys have to avoid a mental letdown after a tough road win and will have to recover quickly from a physical game in 90-degree weather.

So they're close, huh? That just tells me they'd be good in horseshoes. Flip the script and put Ohio winless and everyone here would be screaming how we suck. Funny how things appear depending how you look at it.

We are most susceptible when playing against a coach with a good offensive mind. UMass I am not seeing it, in fact may be mentally broken after starting the season 0-5.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

very true.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

UMass lost its starting QB today to injury. He missed the 4th quarter. No idea what happened to him.

Coastal Carolina lost to FCS #19 Western Illinois 52-10 today. This is not a great slate of teams to whom UMass has lost. This is a worse Temple team than in the past couple of years. The Tennessee game is sort of an outlier.

Maybe the Tennessee game, which is their most recent, means they are getting better. Where is Jeff McKinney when we need him? Heck, even Fake Jeff would be good!

Need to go into the game fully respecting the Minutemen. That being said Tennessee is kind of a mess right now. UMass played them tough no doubt but the Vols can't seem to settle on a QB, their players sleepwalked through that game, and who knows maybe the coaches have lost the team. If we had been the team in Neyland today we could have walked out with a solid win as the home team seemed to be somewhere else. Florida hangover maybe?

Watched most of that game today. Ford was a pretty nice QB for UMass today. He definitely has some Andy Dalton in him as he locks on to a receiver and doesn't make good reads of the field. Had two guaranteed TDs if he sees the tight end release over the middle.

If Ford can't go that really benefits the Bobcats. The backup was a huge step down. The coaching staff must have very little faith in him as I don't think we attempted 6 passes and played the bulk of the 4th quarter.

Who knows-maybe the tight loss will be something that UMass will build on and carry over into Saturday. Or it was one more gut punch that may have taken the last of the wind ouf of their sails.

If the Cats play like they did today I think they walk out with a victory.

I watched the Tennessee - UMASS game today. Tennessee looked disinterested playing after Florida loss last weekend. Tennessee committed penalties after the play. UMass ran some great running plays but they would have won if they didnt give up the easy score before halftime. I dont think they will beat us. Ohio 38 - UMASS 20.

There's probably a TOS to Tennessee thread in our future.

In 2012 we played UMass at Foxboro. We were undefeated and showing up in the polls while they were one of the worst teams in the country. We won 37-34.

Our guy got sacked too many times yesterday. He needs to throw it away. Seemed a bit shaky at times yesterday but was a stud when it counted.
