A truly historic year for this nation's colleges with Ohio University serving alcohol on campus and BYU serving caffeine on campus.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I was a Boy Scout camp director for a few summers and we would host something called the Mormon Encampment-where a few thousand Scouts from all over Ohio and Indiana (maybe some Kentucky?) would all come at the same time to accommodate their dietary and travel observances as well as giving them a chance to have a camp experience that was more specific to their beliefs.

We had to overhaul the snack bar in the trading post with all kinds of special items. The Scouts' disappointment that we were not selling the same sugar loaded soda, ice cream, and other treats as we did the rest of the summer far outweighed the work we had to do to shift around product offerings. Felt bad for them.

Our Pepsi supplier even came in and changed out the soda fountain in the dining hall with more caffeine free products.

I hope whoever now has that job I once held doesn't have to take those measures now, too.

I wonder if Coca Cola or the BYU students were more excited by this?

Anyone on here been to a game at BYU-either hoops or football? Did they just sell a lot of caffeine free drinks and water/juices?

Makes me think they're looking at the Big 12 and this is the start of lifting other restrictions. They've got a ways to go though.

Ugh. Those jokers (Big 12) better not start that charade again! Millions of collective dollars wasted by those schools who thought there was a serious opportunity for membership. I'm a UC fan and it still makes me feel like I would had some jerk stood up one of my sisters for a date.

My first ever Jackie O's beverage was in Peden Stadium so it was historic for me.
