However, from the angle of Alan's photo it looks like someone could stand in the sight lines from the seats in the stadium. I'll bet you if there's a crowd on Victory Hill, some fools will find a way to block the lower part of scoreboard and no one will do a thing about it. Again, this assumes that the angle of Alan's photo is not deceptive. I certainly hope my original impression of the height is correct. I just hope the "real" new one will be bigger - this one not much bigger - but definitely better quality images. And I hope we get same more game stats w/the new "real" one. An unexpected upgrade is the game play clocks - Bigger, brighter, Real easy to find and see. And - pretty compelling to me - a Gyro and a beer - awesome..... I'm hoping we`ll see replays on the permanent board. The screen just showed a big spinning disk with "Ohio" on it between plays where the replays should be. The new auxillary scoreboards in front of the corner stands and the new 25 second clocks are very bright LEDs and will take some getting used to. At one point when they noted the scoreboard was temporary, they said the actual scoreboard would be "slightly bigger." I agree on the other small scoreboards on the other end that just have the time and score. Those are much more visible and easy to read. However, and I hope this will change, it's still just a large advertising board. I realize it helps to pay the bills, but it really bothers me when Lou (p.a. announcer) says, "Look to the scoreboard for the drive summary," and only the words "Drive Summary" are written there with a picture of a car. Really??? And the "play of the game/day" was from an old bowl game. Sorry, just an old guy who expects a little more. The order of importance of going to a game for most here: Your Smart Phones Padding for you seat The tailgate. The stadium eateries The SCOREBOARD The facilities. The teams uniforms The actual game The 110. My order: Football and the band and who should give two Shids about anything else? Really, aren't three year olds the ones who need constant stimulation? The next power grid failure and many of you will be jumping off buildings with out your stimulation fix for the minute. To the AD, thanks for wasting the money on the score board at the football venue and BBall; when the only thing needed is to know the score, the down, the quarter and the time. Couple this with the PA announcer saying: at the end of the 1st quarter its Miami 3 and Kent State 21. Now that is excitement. Furthermore, the consequences of the advertisements on the scoreboard will mean less and less and the even less of the 110 playing. Then, get rid of the bands altogether as they cost money and the U could make more dough by advertisements on the jumbo instead of the halftime show. Go Bobcats, beat Purdue. They definitely need to sort out the new sound system, especially when the ref is on his mic. Sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher right now. I will say that the new speaker placement is encouraging. Also enjoyed having a Chomolungma during the game, but at 8bucks a pop, I won't have many!
