Week 1. UCLA just overcame a 34 point deficit in the 3RD QUARTER to beat Texas A&M.
One of the best college football games I've ever watched

Really, I turned that game off and went to bed. UCLA looked fairly clueless while I was watching.
Reminds me of a baseball game back in the day. I was listening to the Reds on the radio in my bed as a teenager. The score was something like 9-0 for the other guys with two out in the ninth inning. I turned the radio off, thinking the Reds had lost. Woke up the next morning to the news that the Reds had rallied and won the game. For the record, the Reds were my second favorite team. Go Cubs!

A&M fans are definite cranky this morning. For the moment, Wikipedia reads:

Sumlin began his lame duck season of 2017 by giving up the 2nd greatest comeback in NCAA history to UCLA |
|
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_A%26M_Aggies_football
Here are the recent A&M coaches: Gene Stallings (1965-71) 27-45-1 .377 Emory Bellard ((1972-78) 48-27 .640 Tom Wilson (1978-81) 21-19 .525 Jackie Sherrill (1982-88) 52-28-1 .648 R.C. Slocum (1989-2002) 123-47-2 .721 Dennis Franchione (2003-2007) 32-28 .533 Mike Sherman (2008-2011) 26-25 .510 Kevin Sumlin (2012-17) 44-22 .667
This is Sumlin's 6th year, and with the exception of Slocum, the average A&M coach has lasted under 6 years.

I watched it too. Certainly not the best game I've ever watched, but it was one of the best comebacks I've ever seen.

Sumlin, who has already been on the hot seat for quite awhile, could little afford that loss, while Mora, who was quite the darling for awhile at UCLA, has certainly out stayed his welcome in the eyes of many too. Both these coaches better get to work or it is going to be a long season for them both.
For my money, the most amazing game was Liberty defeating Baylor. It makes one wonder if this is, indeed, a good example of Divine Intervention, or, at least, proof that Baylor has, indeed, been in league with the Devil up until now!!!

No shortage of exciting week one games! As a fan of college football in general I am glad a lot of schools are willing to take on these high profile week one matchups.
Got to watch much of the WV-VT and the GT-Tennessee games. Both were very entertaining.

I agree. And further, if you are going to go play football at one of those schools, these are the kind of games you want to play in.
