He and Stubbs went toe to toe with Randy Moss.

Thanks for posting. I love watching film from Grobe era teams. Reminds me of my youth. Guys like Tevell Jones are the reason I'm on this site 18 or so times per day.

Too bad the video didn't include perhaps his most athletic pic - one in which he laid out parallel just inches above the turf.

Some beautiful shots of a practically empty Rubber Bowl and what is that, football players covered in mud?

He always looked for return yardage after the turnover!

Number 5 always seems to find its way to great Bobcat players.

Perhaps Tevell's "greatest play" was his blocking a

Univ. of Maryland punt deep, deep in their territory

in the Grobe-game at College Park. We recovered,

scored and tied the game, and eventually won by a TD.

My older son and I were in attendance; the greatest

OU football victory we've ever seen, in person-s.

We had two big victories that year. I think Tevell was tied for 1st place as far as interceptions and in the top ten for punt blocks. He was a turnover machine. I liked his diving interception against bowling green.

My wife and I were there, also, with two good friends of ours. That blocked punt was the key to OHIO's comeback. We were down 14-0 early, and came back to win. As I recall Hookfin had some key runs in our final drive. Great win!

Our daughters play soccer together and we have had a lot of chances to talk about OU and Athens. He is an incredibly nice guy and very humble about his playing days. Great guy and great family.

When next you see Tevell, you might share with him that his Bobcat exploits are well and fondly remembered.
