Self-appointed aesthetics experts James Jimenez and Steve Helwick rank your favorite MAC team’s threads.

Ohio, the only MAC team with a non-Big Three (adidas, Nike and Under Armour) uniform merchandising deal, knocks it out of the park with a distinctive look that translates well across the eras to earn our unanimous #1 pick.

Ohio’s uniform just screams “college football.”

Finally a MAC title to celebrate. I'm assuming based on the amount of Russell gear on sale uptown that the R is a thing of the past for sure?

Power rankings of uniforms??? The throes of the off-season.

Has anyone ever noticed that Ohio's uniforms are essentially Nebraska's? Just substitute green and red.

I just looked, and I disagree. They really aren't the same as Nebraska. For example, Ohio's shirts have two stripes on the shoulder, while Nebraska's older jersey's have two stripes at the cuff. Ohio's helmets have two stripes, Nebraska's have one. There are similarities, sure, but there are going to be similarities to any traditional uniform design.

We had the same uniforms before Frank. A tweak or two, but no substantial changes.

"Ohio’s insistence on wearing its extremely cliche black jerseys for big games will never fail to perplex, but even those disasters have a certain charm to them, if only for the in-laid bobcats in the white numbers, which have a uniquely Ohio design."

Though I liked them the first time, I've come to agree with this comment over time.

I loved the first black jerseys with the brick look. I never cared for the "updated" ones.

That's a good point. I had forgotten that today's black jerseys are different than the original ones. That might, at least in part, explain the evolution of my thinking on these "big game" jerseys.
