Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

That would be a message board/blog post, not an article. And I hope he doesn't go to OLB standing up, that's a huge adjustment to be asked to make.

His size, depending on the scheme may force him to have to play OLB. It is good to be marketable at both positions. He needs to show versatility. He will be a pro soon and pro's need to be able to adjust. I would rather see him play DE as well though.

You obvious do not understand how difficult it is to make the transition to playing your entire life with your hand down, v. upright, where the entire flow of a game is different. But that's ok, ignorance on the details is something you strive at providing. On to your next 40 post a day.

He's gotta hit that quota BTC to catch up on Ryan's list! He's currently 992 off the pace.

Players do it every year, part of being a pro is being adaptable. From the article posted above along with a Steelers article, he is doing well and showing that he can play both positions. It may be hard to fathom for a medi, but players do it every year, let's not sell TB short, just because we may fall short. 991 now, once I get my crown I am buying a new pocket protector.

I agree that players do it every year. The Redskins have 3 players on their team that were hand-in-the-dirt DEs in college and switched to OLB in the Redskins 3-4. There is obviously an adjustment because most of those players have not spent much time in coverage in their college career, but happens all the time. It will all depend on what team drafts him and whether they think he can handle dropping into coverage occasionally.

If you'd read the original post, it alludes to the fact it's a harder adjustment, and "all the time" is an overstatement. But a player is better in camps when they are as comfortable as possible.

Other articles. Basham is crushing. All through practice, Basham was clearly the most explosive edge rusher on hand, even if he again struggled on a couple occasions when asked to drop back into coverage – it seems that he’s unlikely to be able to handle those duties all that proficiently. His constant pressure though reflected what was very clearly seen on tape all season. He currently holds a third round grade for us, and proved why.http://www.firstcoastnews.com/sports/nfl/jacksonville-jag...

Ok, I can agree that optimally he would want to play with his hand down. It would be better for his draft stock, if he were able to play both.

I guess you missed the part where I agreed it is an adjustment.

And no, it is not am overstatement to say it happens all the time. Here are some starting NFL OLBs that played DE in college:

Ryan Kerrigan
Preston Smith
Chandler Jones
Markus Golden
Jadeveon Clowney
Whitney Mercilus
Brian Orakpo
Derrick Morgan
Bud Dupree
Melvin Ingram
Justin Houston
Tamba Hali
Dee Ford
Robert Mathis
Erik Waden
Nick Perry
Julius Peppers
Demarcus Ware
Jaime Collins
Emmanuel Ogbah
Willie Young
Shaq Lawson
Jerry Hughes
Terrell Suggs
Elvis Dumervil

There are just from the teams that play a 3-4 base defense. There may be a few on 4-3 teams, but i didnt look at them.

At his size, Tarell most likely will have to be an edge rusher in a 3-4 defense. He'll find a spot on a roster for a long time if he can relentlessly get after the quarterback. Tarell figures to go in the third or fourth round if he doesn't show he can play in space; he'll move up if he can. I hope my NY Jets draft him. They've need a guy who can fly off the edge and make plays on the quarterback since they traded John Abraham to the Falcons in 2006.

On the NFL Network today, Mike Mayock said he thinks TB will be a second round pick.

He appears to be turning many heads. Keep up the good work Bash.

Carnac predicts that this wise Bobcat - http://www.packers.com/team/staff/chad-brinker/71033491-e... - will deliver Tarell to the promised land with their third round pick. The pick - #93 - also happens to be Bash's number. Coincidence...I think not. Could also learn from one of the best, Julius Peppers, before he retires.

I think the scouts are now seeing that he has a better motor than Moses' Mexican food truck.

I'm not surprised to see Basham moving up draft boards. He turns in a good 40 time, and his stock will really soar.

Pass-rushers are in such high demand in the NFL; he produced throughout college and appears to have all the physical tools to be a great next level player.

I've seen crazier things happen.
