I was just talking tailgating with someone, and looked ahead and noted there's no kickoff time for this game listed yet. Anyone have any insight on when it will be announced? I assumed 2pm, but since there wasn't a night game for tomorrow, I thought that might be possible too.

I'm guessing night game, but that's just my intuition talking.

Night game would be a bummer as no rooms left in Athens. Makes no sense to me to play any night games in a town like Athens with very few hotels. I know, there's a lot more than there used to be and TV dictates these things sometimes.

I'm guessing day game due to parents weekend. Honestly they need to publish times for this game and EMU.

I'm with you 100%. For folks like me from way out of town, this lack of time really makes it tough to plan. I'll either stay in Columbus or Huntington the night before and Saturday as well. Bummer.

Totally agree with you both. There's no good reason if TV isn't a factor (and how could it versus an FCS opponent?) that it can't be announced.

I'm guessing 2PM. I think they usually try to keep the Parents Weekend game in the afternoon, since there's always some kind of show in MemAud that night.

This could be a great business opportunity

I was in the lodging business at one time and I can tell you that filling your rooms as few nights as they do in Athens is not necessarily a great business opportunity.

Really? And I thought Trump was just a poor businessman when he kept passing on building a high rise hotel resort at Strouds. Your sarcasm decor is obviously broken.

I believe games that are TBA are usually locked in on kickoff times 12 days before the game per TV scheduling.

I'm just trying to figure out why this would ever be televised? Ohio vs Gardner Webb?

The last time they were here in 2011 they knew they couldn't win and played like it. They were trying to get out as fast as possible , without letting scouts see anything and not getting anyone hurt. You could tell what they were going to do on every single play. Let's hope they come in here with the same attitude again. This and Eastern may be our only chances for wins this year.

May well end up that way, but no time will be set until 2 weeks out

You'd be surprised, as I was, how many nights the hotels in Athens are sold out. There are so many conferences and other events going on at the university that there are many non-football and non-basketball weekends that the no vacancy signs are out, figuratively speaking. I discovered this not too long ago when I was trying to book about ten rooms for a group I belong to that was planning to have a meeting in Athens. As it turned out, none of the weekends when there was a block of ten rooms available -- in any of the city's hotels -- was a weekend when this group could meet.

It's not going to be a night game. OU Hockey plays @ 7:30pm in Bird. Hockey always plays on Parents Weekend. It's a big money weekend.

If we lose the next two, it really won't make much difference because on one will show up anyway. Maybe a nice day for a picnic at Burr Lake.
Just kidding, I'll be there with a daughter.

If this game is NOT a night game, then will we have any Saturday night games this season at home?

I can't see them moving the 10-15 game vs EMU to a night game. It's band day, and it potentially will be colder.

Plus, it is MAC volleyball at 7PM against Buffalo. Lots going on that weekend with v-ball hosting Akron on Friday, too.
