I watched the entire game online. Even with the loss I think some guys matured in that game as we wind down our non-conference schedule.

Sebastian Smith was a nightmare and should be as the season goes on.
He really elevated his play and shows a late draftable grade according to my friend and former NFL scout.

I saw Greg Windham extend plays with his legs (spinning several times to escape trouble). He also kept his eyes down field too which I really like. He wont get pressure like that for the rest of the season so it was good to see this reaction vs a Power 5 team.

Safeties. We need 2 six-foot safeties that can jump and bat balls down. Some if these floaters that the other teams are throwing in us can be caught or deflected. I hooe our next two signees are 3-Star safeties or corners. We need to tighten that back end up. I know he isnt 6 foot but thank goodness they put Javan Haggan in. He is lightning in a bottle. Of all of my years in Ohio football I will say he is the most explosive player I've seen. His pursuit to the ball is unreal. He needs to play more.

5 turnovers and we didn't get one? That's the difference maker in the game. We just needed one or two. And this doesnt include Basham's batted ball that was dropped by a linebacker.

Watching the SEC network afterwards, the announcers stated Ohio whooped the big boys from Tennessee up all 4 quarters. And that Tennessee has lost 10 of their 12 quarters (2nd half they dominated Va Tech) thus far this year. They were not expecting that Dobbs, Hurd and Kamara were all held to less that 69 yards. And they were concered that if Ohio won the trenches how could they beat Floida next week or any SEC team. So that was encouraging to hear we won the trenches. However we lost the battles on the last few plays as the left tackle could not handle Barnett.

We made a lot if mistakes in this game but they could be cleaned up. We didnt give up and played all fours quarters. Yes we lost but this team is maturing fast I think from a former players perspective. Week 1 to Week 2 and Week 2 to Week 3 are the biggest learning curves for young players.

We suffered a lot of injuries and I thought Vinny Emmanuel should have gotten a chance to tote the rock just because of how stocky this kid is. We will see as the injury bug has hit our backfield.

I still believe we can go 8-4 but watching Akrons front seven has me concerned now. That may be a low scoring affair with the winner being whoever has last possession for the win.

Don't forget that the Bobcats have Jeff Christian on the roster to beef up the CB position next year. He was a three-star recruit, but ended up spending last year at Ohio Dominican, and so this year he has to sit out. I'm also hopeful that Deontai Williams will still appear on Ohio's roster next year. He seems to have spent last year at Jones County Junior college working on academics, and this year he's a Freshman for them:

+1 I don't believe we will lose two more

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

@L.C.

That would be nice if he returns. Hopefully Haggan is still in his ear. I looked at the roster of Jones and I must say, can we steal:

#99 Tony Adams
#54 DeShondrick Foxworth

At this point, Toledo and CMU still appear to be better than Ohio. I think we edge Akron at home. Can we win the rest and at least grab one from Toledo/CMU?

We played well yesterday, but we're still one bogey down. We need a birdie somewhere along the way to make up for Texas State.

We can beat Toledo, if we stop the run. Kareem Hunt wanted to come to Ohio, His coach was Nick Toth and Duffer Duffy former Bobcat DB's, Hunt did not have the grades.
