I would think those are essentially the same thing depending on how you classify them on your books? And can you imagine the outrage of those 20 schools getting STATE funding to run a football program? Let me guess: most of those are in the South where football matters over everything else? Imagine if that were happening to Ohio. Along with the fact that all but one other university in the MAC lost more - we make up for that loss via student subsidies. How do the other MAC teams address it? How do others handle the finances? Basically the opposite of the guarantee games, it's the money Ohio pays teams to come play at Peden. It probably doesn't vary much, but of course, the guarantee game can vary quite a bit by year. For example, last year Ohio got $700,000 to go to Minnesota. I assume going to Tennessee this year will be a bigger payday.
