Interesting USAT article on the bowl discussion going on within D1A: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bowls/2016/02/... /

Didn't know that getting a bowl comes so cheaply. Just have to pay the NCAA $10,000 and you, too, can sponsor a bowl.

And I think I just read yesterday that two more cities, Austin, TX and Charleston, SC are trying to get bowl games, in addition to what's already in existence.

Edit: Ooops! Didn't read the link to the USA Today story. Never mind, nothing to see here.......

Where the heck are they going to play a bowl game in Charleston? College of Charleston doesn't have a football team.

Nevermind, found it. Citadel does.

Honestly, The Citadel, and Charleston, as a bowl game host is probably a great location to go visit. You could fly in and get around without ever needing to rent a car if you chose. There are loads of lodging options, and plenty of things to do besides the game itself. I can't speak for other bowl locales, but this seems like a good idea to me.

My only caveat in that statement is my opinion that every bowl game location should be able to make it such that the participating schools are not losing tons of money by showing up. Some of that is on ESPN, etc., of course.

It takes a while for the economics to sort itself out with bowls because all of the games are these long term contracts. I like where things are headed with the new games and think the MAC can upgrade on that front.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended

2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
