Time to earn your money.

I cannot blame this one squarely on the coaches, we had another meltdown. Our running backs averaged less than four yards a carry, our QB was ineffective through the air and our defense made some mental errors. The jury is still out.

The 2 consecutive INT's were the turning point. App St. had the momentum from there on out.

If only Sawyer could have made it to the end zone they'd have needed TD.

Predictable. Easy to prepare for. Never make the other side defend anything new.

Which side ran an O such that you more than one guy could get a handoff, which side did you always know who the only running back was that could get a handoff?

We're never prepared to strike quick, to pour it on, to respond to great pressure moments.

We'll be the same way next year. If you're happy with our offense, then so be it.

Hey, tell me about this staff's record when leading at half. Then tell me how big the games were in which we didn't hold the lead.

So the staff lost the game? Hmmm, I thought 3 turnovers in 2nd half contributed more to the loss. But I'm not as smart as you regarding football. Frank could learn so much from you.

No creativity on offense is on the coaches. Look at our first possession. third and seven and we run. Point made right there fella.

So the game was lost on the first possession? And I thought games were 60 minutes 'fella'. And it went down to all 60 tonight.

Thought the play calling after Windham completed the miracle pass was suspect. I understand taking time off the clock but not getting a play in and set as the clock was about to expire caused Windham and the plays to be out of sync. Thought it hurt us either getting a first down at worst and possibly a TD.

Solich is 2-5 in bowl games and 0-3 as we know. It's disappointing that we've left some wins on the table. 3-4 or 4-3 in bowls and 1-2 in the MACC seems so much better.

And you just proved my point as to how ignorant posters can be. I used that first possession as an "example" as to our lack of offensive creativity. I can point out 20 more if you'd like but I am afraid too much evidence will confuse you.

No, I actually suspect I've forgotten more about the game than you may ever know. And I'll not post the 'why' behind that.

Up 24-14 in the fourth quarter why is Sprauge throwing the ball in 4 receiver sets? Run a ball. Burn some clock. Pick up some first downs and this game is over. Poor game plan down the stretch tonight that negated big plays by the players.

Bingo wes.we did not burn clock and should have run the ball. How about this: remember the 2point extra point vs north Texas? Given the flow of the game I would have gone for the first down not the fg You knew they would move the ball they did all night. We get a first down run clock and win on the last play.coaches did the coach correct thing and lost. If you can't get a Yard there you don't deserve to win. Maybe run the hard count for an off sides? Just do something different it is a bowl game. No balls and no creativity.

Did anyone see anything from our offense which was different from what you'd seen all seasons and for the handful of prior seasons?

Three weeks off and nothing new.

A very curious play. On 2nd and 10 on our 2nd possession of the game, Sprague looked right and then hit Smith late on the left flank. Smith was tackled immediately--for no gain. That's the weird thing--he hadn't gone a yard downfield on a 2nd and 10. That could not have been what the coaches wanted, right??

Monroe the QB is normally allowed to read and pick the playmaker that has the highest probability to make a play. This goes back to Sprauge's decision making and more importantly the staff sticking with Sprauge through his career over finding a JUCO QB.

Wes--So? I'm not sure what your point is. We tend to rein in our qb's and/or not have very good qb's. So, Sprague did what he's taught to do....and that isn't enough to make us better than middle of the MAC. Maybe you're making another point that I'm not understanding ??

The play calling is yet a second issue. One is Sprague's choices and the other is the sets he has to work with. Ohio is 86th this year in ppg and #115 last season. That is not conference championship level offense.

I think, once again, this game show we need more and better athletes. We were out physical by there offensive line and we were pretty much unable to move the ball on the ground. One of the posters always says run the ball stop the run and win the game. We didn't do any of that last night.

Indeed, and credit to App State. Some still see them as a lower level program, huge mistake. Their Tailback now has 4,000 yard in 3 years. They are an excellent team. The is no dishonor in 32-29 with App State. Another poster out there knows "In the deed the glory." Both teams deserved to leave the field with their heads held high after their efforts. Shame there is a crowd that can't wait to start their lists of players to be unworthy and to be thrown under the bus.

Say no to mediocrity, App State was ok, they are on the move and we need to be on the move as well.We should win these games, we do need bigger and better players. Who cares about their tailback? let's go Cats

This was a ball game that Ohio should have won. Sprague was not moving the ball for the offense. Windham should have come in earlier in the ball game to see if he could have moved the ball for the Bobcats. Most coaches would have tried something to get movement from the offense. Another thing I think was a poor coaching decision was throwing the ball in the 4th quarter. Run the ball, change up the plays you call, but don't throw it when all you need to do is take time off the clock. The interceptions gave ASU short fields on both occasions. Run the ball, and if you don't get a first down, you have a good enough punter to kick it away and force ASU into a longer field. This would have taken more time off the clock and possibly won the game for Ohio. These decisions might have changed the outcome of the game. Who knows for sure, but the staff needed to try something to change the outcome of the game.

All of this is good in hindsight, but I am not a coach. It is observations from a former player's perspective. I am still a Bobcat tried and true. Do we need a coaching change? I'm not suggesting that at all.
