yes always on time

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Always love that video. It was the turning point of the Ohio football program.

But I'm wondering how many of us would be so ecstatic if Ohio were to beat a struggling "P"5 team these days with just two pick-sixes and a FG. I know I would be pleased, but not necessarily ecstatic. The program -- and our expectations -- have come a long way.

That game was fantastic at the time. But looking back at it, it lost a ton of its luster. Pitt was not a good team that year and actually ended up with a losing record of 5-6 with one of those wins vs a I-AA team. The win at the time was big but looking back at it.....meh.....

That game will never grow old for me. I was only 14 at the time and I remember watching the game on TV with my dad and brother jumping around when Byrum picked off that pass. That got me hooked for life.

I've seen crazier things happen.

That win today would not be considered that impressive, and would be mocked by some, but that's not the important point. It was an impressive win because of the context, which was coming off the Knorr years. In any case the video never gets old because I love the quickness and speed of Byrum, and I love the face fault of the guy leaping over the railing. The shot is perfect, and doesn't show his landing, so we can imagine what a klutz he must have looked like when he hit the ground without actually seeing any pain.

Regardless of the quality of the opponent (and at the time Pitt was thought to be pretty good), that was a great, emotional win.

The problem is that the feeling and the playing-beyond-apparent-ability has faded or frayed somehow a bit given the several crushing losses over several of the past few seasons.
