If you have an allegiance, state it here.

Currently Army 17-14.

Go Army!

Always root for Army in this game and when they play Air Force, because of my late grandfather. Would really like to see them break their losing streak today to the Midshipmen.

Another hard fought game.

I'm a Navy guy. So was my father. First athletic contest I ever saw as a child of three or so was a Navy baseball game.

Army guy here. My first uniform was issued to me in 1973. Was so proud to see all those cadets today. Players and those standing through the game. Duty, Honor, Country. Find an academy graduate and ask him/her about being a Pleb/Plebe. Talk about oppression.

U.S Army 82nd ABN Div medic 82-89. Army seems to always shoot themselves in the foot last couple years.

When we played a home game with Navy several years ago, back in the TOS era, I think it was, I was rooting for OHIO, but I had this weird feeling in the back of my mind that I would be happy if Navy won as well. As I was watching that game I kept having flashbacks to that Navy baseball game that I had seen as a young boy with my father. It was a surreal feeling. Hard to describe.

I was there to see #14 in a row...go Navy! It's an incredible experience if you ever get the opportunity. My wife works for the USNA, so somehow I ended up in a suite with David Robinson, two actual Admirals, and Gov. Jon Huntsman for the fourth quarter. It was unique and fun experience!

It looks like BYU is going to hire Coach Niamatalolo, though. I think Navy would be a great spot for Jim Grobe to return to coaching!

That would be great, and possibly provide an opportunity for Ohio to play Navy...

Sometime, I'd enjoy going to a Navy game with you. Seems like an environment that reflects what college sports should be like.

Ryan - that would be fun. It's definitely a "bucket list" event for any sports fan. It's usually very cold, though - this year we really lucked out.

We have had our chances at playing Navy in the past 10 years.

That will be an interesting hire. BYU has been a spread/pass-heavy team forever it seems. Bringing Niamatalolo and the triple-option could be amazing, or it could be terrible. Paul Johnson has made it work at GaTech for the most part, so I wouldn't bet against Niamatalolo pulling it off.

(I kinda miss the triple option, and wouldn't hate seeing it return to some more prominence in college football. I wouldn't hate seeing us return to a more pure option offense either, so long as we didn't Knorr it up.)

Got to go to the Army/Navy Game at Giants Stadium a few years ago.
To be honest, the game was secondary to the the pregame activities and seeing the respect each branch of the service has for the other.

As far as the weather.
It was colder then a witch's you know what, and windy.
GS always was windy.
Didn't matter.
Dressed warm and loved being there.

It's just "talks" this week, but it's not looking good for Navy. Niumatalolo didn't attend BYU (played for Hawaii), but is a Mormon, it gets him closer to his home state of Hawaii, and I think his son plays or played at BYU.

There's a 99% probability that if he leaves OC Ivan Jasper will be named head coach. He's the architect of their triple option, and has added several new wrinkles since Paul Johnson left.

One son plays for BYU currently and he has other children in the region. Will be a tough decision for him, but at the end of the day he's a top notch individual.

They do. The Marines are part of the Navy, and the Coast Guard is a D-3 team.

I took my 7-year-old to the game in Baltimore last year. We stayed in Annapolis and toured the Naval Academy. We were shown very briefly on College Gameday. Met a lot of cadets and midshipmen there, got some pictures with them and my son. Went into the game early to watch them march on. I truly believe those young people are our nation's best. I'm not sure my son will remember but I'll never forget. Now, just have to get to West Point.

A friend of mine played for Coast Guard in the early 1960s when the team went undefeated and then played in the Tangerine Bowl.

Great pics! I took my family to Annapolis and toured the campus, the town, the athletics facilities. All very impressive. If I were to pick between Army and Navy, I'd probably lean toward Navy just because of the atmosphere in Annapolis. It's a very "college town" feel.

I also took my family to West Point. Also very impressive. Really enjoyed the museum we toured there. It was focused on the history of warfare, but can't remember the name. Would love to go back in part to see that museum again.
