BG Toledo NIU CMU WMU Ohio UB Akron
I think we're bowling no matter what. Just a matter of where. With 6 tie-ins and probably at least 1 or 2 other bowls that won't be filled by conference affiliation....I'd be stunned if we get shut out

Generally, I'll root for MAC teams to make bowl games. But I am strongly rooting against Akron to make a bowl. They are just terrible.
And if we're 6-6 and in a bowl game, that means we're 3-5 in the MAC. I always support going to a bowl, though.
What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

An interesting phenomenon that I have noticed is that any team that Ohio beats is "terrible", while if a team bats Ohio it isn't because they are good, but because Ohio is terrible. I suppose it is the same at other schools, too, but I wonder what it says about the sports fan mentality in general?

I think the biggest question here is:
Is it pronounced poyn-SET-tee-ya or poyn-SET-ah?

In the Midwest, SET-ah. Everywhere else SET-tee-yah.

Akron won today and is now 5-5. That means the winner of next week's Akron-Buffalo game will be bowl eligible. The loser will have either UMass (Buffalo) or Kent (Akron) the following week to get bowl eligible.
CMU (5-5) has Kent this Wednesday and EMU to end the season, so they should be bowl eligible.
Looking more and more like the MAC will have eight bowl-eligible teams.
We will get by. We will get by. We will get by. We will survive.

I elect going for the super-affected " poyn-SET-chiya" - (with a little circle hand flare - plam up) on the chiyah

I could see Ohio here. NIU has gone twice so they probably don't want it. The MAC Champ is contracted to the GoDaddy Bowl. If they don't win the MAC BG, UT, WMU are going to press for the Quick Lane Bowl.

The Quick Lane Bowl isn't a MAC tie-in.
It's an ACC/Notre Dame vs. Big Ten bowl.

But both the ACC and B10 might not be able to fill all their commitments, which should put Quick Lane in play for one or two teams from another conference. ACC has nine bowl contracts and will likely have ten bowl-eligible teams, including ND. If Clemson gets into the playoff and ND gets an at-large into a NY6 bowl, that would leave ACC one short. B10 has ten bowl contracts and will likely have no more than ten bowl-eligible teams. If a B10 team gets into the playoff, that'll leave B10 at least one short.
We will get by. We will get by. We will get by. We will survive.

The MAC has an agreement to supply a team through 2019 if there is an opening in the Quick Lane.

ok... well it looks like there might be 8 eligible bowl teams from the MAC... Buffalo may end up 5-3 in the MAC as well.

Either Buffalo or Akron is likely to be 5-3, depending who wins their game Saturday. I see that Akron is currently favored by 4.
