...Ball State is soooooo bad!

I had no idea they were this bad.

BUT....

...with that being said, Ohio looks really good thus far. Sprague is playing his best game in Bobcat uniform.

Sucks to see Daz get banged up....but silver lining is we FINALLY get to see what Irons and Brown have. To the surprise of few, they've looked good.

Wasn't sure what to expect tonight, but this is exactly what Ohio needed to do. Jump on a bad team early and hopefully it'll continue.

Good pre-cursor before a tough one at NIU next week. Doesn't erase the nasty taste of WMU, UB & BG...but a strong finish is nice to see.

Did you hear what the espn announcer said when Daz went down? Something about this being something no Bobcat fan wanted to see. For some reason Monroe came to mind.

Russ and Rob saying on the postgame that this was the most yards on offense for Ohio since playing EMU in 1997.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

I would hate to face this team next year. They have a lot of young players who show flashes of being really good. Riley shows lots of smarts and poise for a true frosh QB. It will once again be a five-team race in the West next season (sorry, EMU, you'll be in 6th place again next year).

Was at the game in Ypsilanti. Don't think Ohio attempted a pass and the lengendary Hank Ray had ridiculous day...something like 198 yds on < 10 carries and a few TDs I think.

I missed almost the entire first half. What happened to Daz?

For what it's worth, Sprague's season passing stats now stand at:
43-76-1 for 693 yards and 6 TDs. That gives him an NCAA pass efficiency rating of 156.6, which would put him in third place in the MAC, behind Matt Johnson of BG (174.4) and Zack Terrell of WMU (160.9).

It is also true that if Sprague doesn't play against NIU, he will become the all-time leader at Ohio for Single Season Pass Efficiency (minimum 75 attempts) by a wide margin. The current leader is TT at 141.6.

It just goes to show - when you can run the ball effectively, passing gets a lot easier.

Had my legends confused. Was Riz Buckman, the pride of Stebbins, not Sycamore's finest Hank Ray.

But they did NOT attempt a pass.

"Ohio, the nation’s fifth-leading rushing team, ran for 612 yards and was 0 for 4 passing in a 47-7 victory over Eastern Michigan. Steve Hookfin ran for 177 yards, Riz Buckman 166 and quarterback Kareem Wilson 139."

Daz got banged up early and never returned. Probably precautionary more than anything.

While I'll say Sprague was good tonight (which stunned me), I'm hesitant to get too excited over 76 attempts. That's almost bare minimum sample size.

Exactly. Bare minimum to entitle him to the all-time record at Ohio is 75 attempts. Just imagine, QBs for years could be chasing the pass efficiency record set by J.D.

Let's hope. Daz has had a very solid season, and I'd hate to see him hurt at this late date. Ohio does have plenty of depth at RB, though.
