It was the most since 1997. Last week was Solich's first MAC shut out. Good to see the team respond after the BG throttling.

We had a very good week offensively, especially with all the injuries.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

I enjoyed the game, but didn't enjoy the special team play all that much. We got 78 yards on 4 returns, they got 235 on 9 returns. We were doing well there before this game.
We won big so I'll get over it.

Credit to JD Sprague for stepping in and managing the offense well. He wasn't a run first QB last night, which I think benefited him. He made some GREAT throws. Made it look easy.

Also, props to Maleek Irons and Dorian Brown for good nights at RB. Jordan Reid getting open many times throughout the night...the list goes on.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Yes, incredible!
I believe that we may well have seen the
emergence of the "real" JD Sprague, whose
arrival unfortunately was halted earlier
this season by the injury he suffered
against Marshall.
He was crisp and efficient in running
the offense. He scrambled well when
necessary. And, he displayed a beautiful
touch in throwing both short passes and
particularly, in long ones.
An additional bonus for the offense:
No turnovers!

And you know, the play-calling has improved since the Buffalo game. It's not (insert name of RB here)UTM all the time. We're getting option runs and going long on passes. And finally, finally, we ran a reverse last night, and scored on it.

Obviously, the coaches are reading what we've been writing and paying attention to it. (Oh, wait, that's being discussed on another thread. Sorry.)

Frank said in one of his recent interviews that he though we hadn't gone long enough and that that would probably change. I'm sure he got that idea from this board rather than from reviewing game video and discussing issues with his assistant coaches.

HUGE POINT. Have wanted to see jet sweep or reverse or some other big counter action or show risk of handoff/shovel pass to slot guy for weeks.......and, without rewinding all the film, feels like we haven't seen any of that since mid-September.

In past years, it may have been a little too frequent. But felt like that card has been left out of the deck the last 5-6 weeks. I realize with running a lot of zone read and packaged plays we take what the defense offers us.....blah, blah, blah.....but was good to hear the reverse on my drive to Athens.

Personally, I've wondered where the screen pass has gone in our arsenal. Remember when we just destroyed Marshall with almost nothing but screen passes? We don't use them at all, seemingly. Was it just something that TT mastered but JD or Vick aren't comfortable with?

They couldn't run those for awhile, and it hurt. With Sprague our and Vick gimpy the option was, umm, not an option.

Sprague is OUr Rodney Dangerfield. Some or most including yours truly give him no chance to be OUr QB next year. Sure many will say the Ball D sucked....but give Sprague some credit....passing looked good...he's faster than Vick.... And his parents went to Fiami so give the guy just a tad amount of support.

I will say, with the exception of the moonshot to Cope (no idea how no BallS DB was in position to pick that off), Sprague's deep passes looked better than Vick's.

His most impressive throw was the rocket he threw to Reid on our second possession that set up the td. Yesterday we saw jd's upside...the one everyone sees in practice. Consistency. Eliminate the big pick. We can roll with this guy next year
