Anyone notice that OHIO is a steep discount to every other ticket on their schedule? Ouch!

I'm sure Wed night has something to do with it. What other incentive is there?

True, but we are at a very steep discount to their other mid-week game, though a rivalry, a poorly attended one.

It still might be higher than fair market value. I don't think I'd pay more than $2.50 to watch Ohio play football right now.

Let's see how well attended it is this year. Both teams are pretty darn good.

Well, uh, you know, weather forecast for Bowling Green that day is high of 72 and low of 55. If nothing else, I can say I've been to Bowling Green when the temperature was above 32 degrees. And I've been to Bowling Green quite a few times.

I wonder if the permafrost will melt on the flat, windy tundra that surrounds that gulag.

I will be there. Don't let that discourage anyone else from going. It's a stadium with 30,000 seats. You won't have to sit next to me or talk to me.

I've always wanted to know what it was like to be the only person in a stadium rooting for a team. I felt like it at Tennessee.

We will be there with a couple of friends. Curious to see what kind of crowd shows up for B.G. Hopefully we will hang with a team that is one of the top 3 in the MAC.

That pretty much happened to us at EMU a few years back.

That said, I'm on the fence for BG. If I get enough sleep Tuesday night, I'll probably head over.

Okay, so I am taking a break from blowing leaves and thinking about the old and worn shirt I am wearing.

It would have to be more than 15 years ago on a weekday trip to Athens. I was poking along Union Street and walked into a place that sells tee-shirts and other clothing items right near the former Sundry and Angelo's Pizza (for you youngsters, near Goodfellows).

There on sale was a jeans shirt for under ten bucks. At that price, I didn't care what was on the shirt as it could be used for a leave blowing shirt if I didn't like it. Well on the right breast area was an embroidered picture of a bus, above it OHIO BOBCATS and under it Jan's Fans.

Can anyone tell me the origin of Jan's Fans?

The desperate attempt started in pre-season BG ticket sales. An early promo had $1 Ohio ticket if you bought a $28 Toledo ticket.

I'm sure someone else can tell you more, but it is a group of local Bobcats supporters who travel to away games and also have some other get-togethers.

Here's a story that also tells you more:

Jan's fan was more of a basketball group than it ever was a football group and was even more of a Larry Hunter support group. The OBC has frozen them out of a lot of access over the past 7 years.

Anyone else going? At least it's not going to be 30 degrees with 30 mph winds like usual.

I will be there. And it won't even rank among the Top 10 dumbest things I've ever done.

No doubt. I was there two years ago when it was 30 degrees and Ohio got blown out. No matter what the score is tonight, it can't be that bad.

I think that's what Custer said.

So I'll see you tonight?

The last time I was at the Doyt, we won on a last-second field goal and won the MAC East. So I have happy memories that I'm clinging to going into tonight.
