I see one poster made a prediction in the Official Game Thread. Our tradition is to do this in a separate thread. I'll start:

OHIO 28
UB 3

Patchwork defense impresses and almost gets the shut out.

[Has anyone noticed that a certain leader of the Fire Frank Coalition, never, ever makes his own predictions. Wonder why? ;-)

Beefs - 2 (We get a safety on their, not our, 4 yard line)

OHIO - 48

The opposing team sucks!

Positives: Buffalo is not good, and their best player (RB Taylor) is questionable for the game.

Negatives: We always play crappy in Buffalo, and obviously our LB corps situation.

Even though Papi has become our most explosive player on offense, I don't think missing him will hurt too much. #1, we'll see more of our big backs, which I do think our offense has needed. And #2, I think we can compensate with Robbie Walker, who I think the coaches envisioned in Papi's role anyway before Papi's late commitment.

If our offense gets rolling and takes the pressure off our defense, I think we win big. If we play like we have lately and rely on the defense to make a play, I think we could be hurting.

From all indications, we'll finally get to see what Irons/Brown can do in an expanded role. I'm a big fan of that. I think Daz is worthwhile in spots, but just not as a "feature" back. Maybe Irons or Brown will distinguish themselves this week and we'll finally see an offense with a feature back going forward and just use Daz/Papi (when he returns) as a change of pace or scat back on 3rd downs, etc.

If Ohio can establish a running game...it will ease the pressure on Vick and he'll be able to go back to be an efficient QB. He's much better in that role rather than the role they tried to force upon him last week vs. WMU where they put the weight of offensive success on his shoulders (or throwing arm)

The LB depth is very concerning...as is the psyche of this defense after getting shredded last week. If they can right the ship, this should be a "get-back-on-track" win for Ohio.

I'll go 28-25 Ohio

Ohio 31-28. Defensive injuries hurt us, but we manage to hang on.

26-24 Ohio wins.

I say it a lot, but it would be very beneficial if our offense starts off positively. Every W from here on out will be a quality W in my book.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

49 feet of snow hit Buffalo and the game is never played. The Bobcats return to Athens being forced to go through Canada, around Lake Superior, Duluth, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus and arrive at kick-off for the Kent game.

Don't know final score, but Ohio must/shall win. UB is not a good team. We have to win these types of games, and we should.

What courage you have. You never make a prediction ahead of time, but then you chortle and act like a great prophet every time we have a bad game. I can't tell you just how much respect I give you for that.

CatFan...maybe it is time to look at the program over the last ten years and just admit that while we are better we are on the wrong trajectory. We may have been top 4-5 in 2010 but we are now in the 7-8 category. We all love what this staff has done but...you finish the sentence.

Yes, but look at the bright side, he's only had to do that like once or twice in the past 3+ years so you shouldn't really find fault in Monroe's very occasional blue note.

In the chat today mcbin asked me about attendance and I predicted the announced would be 17,550. Just looked at the box score - 17,128. These numbers are all jokes.

What do you think ours will be when we start mid week games? Especially if we keep going down this road. It will be so much for the best fans in the MAC.
