BG up 31-0 in 2nd at Kent...

This is what high-level MAC teams do...blow out the bad ones.

Would be nice to see Ohio do this today.

But here's difference....I'm going to say Toledo comes back to win. We'll lay down and lose by 25. We have zero fight. As a program we've grown incredibly soft

Think I'm better off switching over to the Toledo game.

Buffalo may be the better team but there is more going on here than that. Does anyone believe that Buffalo and WMU are THAT much better than Marshall and Minnesota? If anything I think the first pair is better. We have seen this in each of the past four years. I know that we have probably taken more than our fair share of injuries but only in 2012 was it to such a degree that a collapse was pretty much to be expected. No team was going to survive what happened in 2012

So do we have a soft culture? Are the coaches not making the right adjustments. Is there something in strength and conditioning? SOMETHING is not quite right for teams that play well during the first half of a season to suffer so many blowout losses late in the year every year.

We threw three INTs and two of them were pick-sixes. Buffalo isn't 20 points better than Ohio, and if the two teams met again on a neutral field, Vegas would put it at roughly a pick-'em, give or take a couple points.

Ohio was 3 point favorite ON THE ROAD. That means Vegas thinks they were almost a TD better in neutral field. They were obviously wrong.

I think they were only a little bit wrong, though. Neutral field I'd bet Ohio would still favored over UB narrowly, even after today's game. Like one point or something.

We can check when Sagarin comes out tomorrow, differences in predictor rating are usually pretty close to what Vegas gives for opening lines.

The point is the big margin in this game was really due to the turnovers -- Ohio having an especially bad game in one phase -- rather than a huge disparity between the strengths of the two teams.

Not that Ohio doesn't have a bunch of stuff to get corrected, and quickly. And even though turnovers were the main issue I'm not trying to lay all of that on one player (the QB), I think there were other factors involved.

Ohio is 11-14 in its last 25 MAC football games since we were ranked in the top 25 in October 2012. Forget the non-conference and bowl record since that time. We are under .500 in MAC play. That is really what the measure of performance the program is judged on. Its hard to win MAC titles when we can even play .500 against the MAC anymore. Solich has had a great career at Ohio over the last ten years, but over the last three plus seasons his record against the MAC is under .500

This.

I love what Frank did for the program a decade ago, but it's time for new blood. (And, my lord, time for a new offensive coordinator!)

Time to retire, Frank. Bless you, but it's time.
