I've tried to remain fairly sober over the pattern of the past few years. Keep beating Marshall, keep beating Fiami, and I'll hold my tongue over the late season swoons.

No more. I'm done.

Thank you, Frank, for your service. The program really is better off today than it was when you took over, and Bobcat Nation will always be grateful for the turnaround. But it's obvious that we have plateaued, and we are regressing. It's not fair to you to ruin the memories of your successes by watching everything you've built fall apart, and it's not fair to your successor to ruin his chances to take us to the next level. So it's time for both of us to move on.

But with who? Not Tim Albin. If Tim Albin is your replacement, I am ceasing my donations to the athletic department. It's not a lot of money. But it's something.

Besides, we tried that already, and it really really really didn't work. Grobe was great for us. We stayed in house with Knorr, and 4 wasted years later, you started the rebuild.

So, we really need to go in a different direction. Thanks again, Frank. I really can't say that enough.

Schaus needs to have a meeting to encourage Frank to hang it up. He saved this program. Time now to pass the torch

Yeah let's encourage one of our best coaches in program history too retire. What a great thank you for everything he has done. We really are showing great loyalty too someone who could have easily left for a P5 school years ago.

Nobody should encourage fs to hang it up. He should be smart enough to know it is time.

No one will ever forget what Frank did. It isn't disrespect. This program is trending down the last four years. It might be time for a change....or we can just continue to accept mediocrity.

Frank's had time to turn this thing back in the right direction and it just isn't happening.

With all the seniors starting this year it's perfect timing for Frank to retire because we will probably struggle next year no matter who is the coach.

Are you seriously comparing Michigan football to Ohio?

Has he had any P5 offers since coming to Ohio? I don't recall hearing of any. Maybe someone who wants to be rewarded with a P5 offer would actually be driven enough to win a MAC championship. Coaching longevity/continuity in the MAC seems overrated.

Bandit, seriously? OHIO was a doornat in football until FS. We were respectable until the last 3 years or so. Now we are bottom feeders in the MAC again (bottom third anyway). I don't think we'll do worse than where we are now. On the upside, what makes you think we can't get a young and hungry coach who puts a staff together and wins a MACC? That has happened more often in the MAC than a guy at a MAC school 10-15 years and having NO MACCs.

Have a feeling Al Golden will be available soon (he said with tongue firmly implanted in cheek).

Additionally, though, I don't think we have to worry about any ACs being promoted should Frank leave, as Schaus has consistently looked outside for new talent.

If we want a MAC retread, Brady Hoke is available right now, and Turner Gill's buyout at Liberty can't be that much.

These folks turn on a dime. They'll be humming a different tune if we beat BG, except for a few who will still be negative. But, we all know who those folks are. I'll go on record as saying I think we can beat BG, probably with a different starting QB as Sprague was ready today, but ten more days will let him heal completely. Also we should have back virtually all of our injured defensive players. But those sorts of reality don't phase some of these fans, who are about as fickle as you can get.

This will be my last post on BA until at least a few days before the BG game. I need to preserve my sanity. ;-(

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

AHHHHH

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

You are seriously delusional if you think this team can beat BG.....and with Sprague instead of Vick.

WHAAAAAATTTTT????

There is "drinking the kool-aid" and then there's this. Holy Cow.

Please....come back to reality.

I LOVE the Bobcats, but I'm a realist. This team just isn't very good. And this program is teetering on irrelevance.

I hope more than anyone that changes....

But c'mon....beating BG?!?!?!

We'll be lucky to squeeze 1 or 2 more wins vs either Kent or Ball State.

One request, if you are not accepting of the current results and really want change, call for it based upon that. Many are feeling the need to make personal attacks on good well meaning people who have devoted years of their lives and are truly dedicated to Ohio. If you need more wins, that is enough, no need for the personal attacks.

I guess I missed who was on the field today. For all those calling for Frank's head was it Frank who threw 3 INT's? Is Frank responsible for those 17 points that resulted from the picks? And is it Frank's fault the team didn't execute on 4th and 3 leading to another 7 for Buffalo? Most of you seem to be at best fair weather fans. Win and you're happy. Lose and you cry for Frank to retire. Again, unless I missed a LOT Frank didn't suit up today.

Frank didn't suit up but the coaches also have to put players in a position to succeed. Vick had a bad game, even he would admit it. Why not pull him? Why not have an offensive scheme that suits his abilities more?

The fact of the matter is, it feels like when Ohio gets down they don't have any chance because the offense isn't made for that. And the kids know it. So it might look like the kids are giving up, but they aren't. They are out there fighting. They aren't put in the right position to make a comeback.

And when Ohio decided to punt in the 4th quarter down 17 you're telling the kids we have no shot. Come on.

Truth be told, it probably would have Been an asset if Frank HAD suited up and played today. It might have been beneficial to our depth. Just sayin'.

This "fair weather fan" of over 50 years agrees with the sentiment that it is time for Frank to retire. He's done an admirable job but the program isn't progressing. It's time for some new blood.

Frank's QB threw 3 picks, which resulted in 17 points. Frank's team didn't execute on 4th down. Frank's team roughed the punter on 4th and 8. Frank's team roughed the kicker at the end of the first half.

The buck stops at the top. Frank is the head coach. Ultimately, it all falls on him.

And if this was a one-off, you'd be right, it would be crazy to blame the coach. But this is a trend. We peaked in 2011, and 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 are all following the same script.

Something needs to change. And if it doesn't change, then yes, it is Frank's fault.

No, he didn't throw picks. But he did make the ill-advised call to go for it on 4th and 3 just inside the Buffalo 45. We have a punter who averages less than 40 yds a kick and we were heading into a stiff wind. There was a good chance that we would've pinned Buffalo inside the 15 or even the 10. And at that point their offense hadn't done anything (it was right after the first pick 6), so a long field -- even at the 20 -- is the right call. Instead, they get a short field and put it in the endzone. It was way too early to go for it.

Overall the last four weeks, the play calling has really sucked (except maybe for the Fiami game; it's hard to tell if that result was due to our guys or theirs). Yes, our guys haven't been executing well, but there's been a lot of plays misusing personnel. We have guys like Daz who go up the middle even though they don't run well between the tackles. And it doesn't make sense to try play-action when your running game is ineffective. We're back in that same box of doing what we've always done even if it doesn't work. I know the results have been even less satisfying for Solich than it is for us. But he has the power to change it. I will forever appreciate what he's done for Ohio. But we'll NEVER reach that goal of a MAC championship with the game plans we've had lately.

We will get by.

There's just a lot I don't understand. The talent hasn't been matching up the results for a few years now. We've seen flashes of what we COULD be (the defense and RBs earlier this year were looking like consistent strengths) but it always falls apart. And in blowout fashion every time. Embarrassing blowout fashion.

I feel like the last recruiting class was one of Solich's strongest yet. I'm torn in a lot of ways.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

There is only one question that matters in interviewing Hoke if it ever came to that. :)
