My viewpoint…in no particular order:

In business and life—and college football is both—you have to GRASP THE RIGHT FACTS. My anger/insistence which has riled so many, well, take how you feel about today and consider the many MAC beatdowns that we’ve had over the last 3.5 years and see if today fits those games.

It’s been no fun taking all the heat.

Really long posts that miss the key facts of the final scores and reflect little grasp of what anyone who’s watched the many, many beatdowns—well, thanks for your commentary on how lovely the deck towels are on the Titanic. Leaving the chatroom when you think it’s testy and inappropriate because we’re getting beatdown and it doesn’t fit your narrative and you’re being called on that..and claiming not to have watched all or part of the beatdown games—not very adult. If you can’t come to these threads with some willingness to consider that your viewpoint is not 100% right, then you’re probably not in the right place.

I was not happy with our last first have possession against Herd when we didn’t really try to add to the lead. But we won that game. So, I admitted the strategy worked even if I disliked..

Good to see that no one’s falling back on things that happen to almost every team every year—injuries, turnovers, weather—to excuse the last two games.

AJ essentially saved 2014 for us. And he’s not starting or getting many carries now?? He’s proven that he’ll power inside for yardage, get every inch. But we run lightweight inside? Someone posted that Daz and Irons seem about the same size. From the sideline shot of them 4th qtr today, Irons is much bigger.

We have no playmakers, guys who in about EVERY game make plays—especially at key moments—by dint of surpassing mental and/or physical ability. Khalil (sp?) Mack is an extreme example. But I can’t y think of anyone over the last few years for us who was clearly All-MAC game after game.

REACT TO CIRCUMSTANCES. We never seem to. We do the same things game in and game out. We’ve got to be the easiest team ever to prepare for. This is a huge problem. Most of you won’t believe it, but I’m not that concerned with winning. I just want us to play well. If we do and lose, I can easily accept that. To appear to have no clue, to keep doing the same stuff—will we ever go under center or try a true two back set—is, well, it gets you what we are today.

It’s rightfully been said that our main problem is offense. But how many rather average MAC qb’s are we going to keep seeing put up huge numbers against us? I think Licata’s pretty decent. But I can’t think of when we just stopped an even okay MAC qb or offense.

Monroe...there is really very little you or I or Paul or a few others can say to convince some people we are heading to the bottom of the heap. You've made the point repeatedly. I just wonder how many beat downs it will take before even FS realizes it is time to go. He's a smart guy and I don't see him going to the very bottom. I am sure he gets the last year of his contract if HE decides he wants it. it will be an interesting month for sure...

(continuing)

Going for it on 4th and short 2nd qtr vs, WMU by running an AJ who hadn’t carried all day out of a stacked formation (instead of having receivers split wide so WMU had to cover the whole field). Cringeworthy. Going for it—no problem. Difficult to think of a worse play call though.

We have a problem. 65 miles up the road there’s a team that sucks up all the oxygen by winning a lot. We can only combat that by winning and/or not be boring. Boring is a huge sin. See Hugh Grant accusing Sandra Bullock of same in the fine movie Two Weeks Notice and you’ll get the point. We are boring.

OCF—I consider you a friend and enjoy our political discussions, even if they get heated at points, Your anger that I didn’t predict re the last two games is silly. Has nothing to do with how we’ve performed. Going into this year I thought we be about what we are now—not very good. But 5-1 and everyone’s enthusiasm made me think I was wrong. Then, almost all thought we’d beat Buffalo somewhat easily. I had no idea. So, I didn’t predict. When I bumped to show that most mis-predicted and weren’t getting reaility, why get so angry, why cut off all channels of communication?

I agree with things others have said: Our talent’s over-rated. We’re kinda small so susceptible to injury—shouldn’t be surprised when injuries occur. As GoCats105 posted, we’re not the only ones who know that something’s not right. You can be sure the players know—and are dis-spirited.

It’s not fun, but it comes with the title and the money. Coach is responsible.

On Monday, if he doesn’t resign, he should announce that he’s going to take a back seat for the rest of the season to re-assess and that one of the assistants will be in charge for the rest of the year. (I don’t care which assistant. Even Albin’s okay if he’ll take this freedom to quit being so rigid.) We need a test run to see if the designated assistant can coach.

Coach is a good man. He’s had some fine achievements and brought the program forward. But it is time—for Ohio and for Coach,

I think Frank needs to change some things up, but to suggest he should resign during the season is insane. That's literally one of the most obnoxious posts I have ever read.

Sorry. But it is the perfect time to test out one of the assistants.

Consensus is that it's time. So, that's written,

Given that, why would you not kindly send Coach 'emeritus' and see if one of the assistants is the deal?

So...you've decided that you're going to suggest something so outlandish and impossible that when it doesn't happen on Monday we get to listen to you more? Can't wait.

What Steve Spurrier just did was quit on his team, his fans, his administration and himself. Not something any of us would want on our resumes.

The USC Prez rightfully gave up a home game in the interests of public safety and, entirely coincidentally(?), the HBC quits the following week? Check his bio, he's been a victim and a whiner his entire career. People love him and I can't figure out why. Please do not suggest Steve Spurrier as a role model.

Say what you want, his program was going nowhere and he recognized it and eliminated one of the problems. I hate coaches that can't admit there is no longer forward momentum and run their program down the tubes until they are fired. I am not calling for FS to be fired. I just think he will know when the right time is to step aside.

If he were to have a discussion about resigning, The AD and President would and should tell him to go coach and, tell him we will address the future after the season.

Spurrier's team was 2-4 when he stepped down. We are 5-3 and on the verge of a bowl game. We are a program that has won two bowl games in our history. I really don't think this is the right time to step down.

Just curious: how does the Hinduism concept of Namaste in your subject line align with your view that coach should have resigned on Monday or stepped aside in lieu of allowing one of his staff to lead the team?

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

The spirit in me salutes the spirit in you.

That's how the g.f. defined namaste to me. Even if it's not wholly approp for the specifics on this thread, it's a good thought.

Coach resigning in consideration of going out in grace and recognizing that it's time, that we're not going to get better here, would be namaste.

Perhaps Monroe meant that Solich's tenure has been like one long yoga class. We started off with some light stretching (2005-2008), progressed to sun salutations (The Boo Jackson/Theo Scott Era) executed a killer head stand (2011-2012) and we've been lying in savasana for about three years now waiting for Solich to finish with a "namaste" and thank us for coming to class. Don't forget to wipe down your mat Bcat2!

(Just a joke! No one get mad plz!)

I'm uncomfortable with all the cultural appropriation taking place on this thread. Someone should have posted a trigger warning (e.g. "Warning: thread contains micro aggressions")
