will be hard - AJ and Papi not going anywhere - nor should they. Great youth all over the place. Provitt may be best of them all - kid is a stud.

Aj/Papi are smaller backs there will be plenty of carries for Irons/Brown u actually dint want to run Papi between the tackles much..

Let's go 1) still small sample size and 2) played against the third stringers both times he's played.

Those are truly stupid arguments; he is what he's done. No one else did much on the ground for us today. And he can only play against who he plays against.

For power, explosiveness, cutting ability, size--the combination. I don't care who else we have, I don't stick him back on the bench and not play him until the game's decided.

If what we saw today isn't enough for most of you to take a viewpoint that there's a reasonable argument that he's our best, then ..hell, I don't know what to tell you other than to get to an eye doctor.

Agree. Brown showed. But Irons seems markedly larger, more powerful thatn the others.

L.C.: a.j: 8.5/carry, dorain brown 6.3/carry, papi 4.0/carry, irons 4.5/carry

A.J. 8.5 per, Irons 4.5 per. Just saying.

Agree, but Brown was quicker (than Irons) and more allusive. Only have one ball - not enough carries to go around. e.g., AJ only gets two rushes today. I think that is what we may see - Daz and AJ will get early runs - whoever is effective stays - Brown and Irons rotate in - whoever is effective stays. Papi stays as he is the most explosive.

Other approach is hold one out - pound the ball and let fresh legs dominate the 4th Q

AJ will get his carries and have a good career however is not explosive nor will he dominate games. Get real. Irons is the future. Papi will be another Dri Archer for Ohio. Dorian will be the ultimate change of pace. Either way right now this is a nightmare of opposing coaches. Sebastian Smith is turning ELITE right before our eyes.

Irons continues to look good. His strength continues to be seeing holes and timing his run to blocks. He did that very well on his reception and run. But... Brown also looked very good, AJ had only two runs, but ran well, and dragged people, and White was explosive as ever, while Daz had some good runs, all at the start against a fresh Miami defense.

All told, its a very good group, and I like all of them.

Papi's numbers to date blow Archer out of the water (Fr/So). If he keeps progressing - look out.

So if he is the next Archer - he doesn't lose touches - he gets more.

This team is really coming together.

Albin uses and will continue hopefully to move Papi around atmany different spots wouldnt surprise me if he wildcats him at some point. Kid is a swiss army knife on offense and when he breaks a kick off or punt return watch out. Irons soft hands really surprised me out of the back field no one really wants to tackle this guy.

Now that we're 3-1 (oh, c'mon, Idaho, and redhawk were just exhibitions), let's pursue what a poster who I hold in the traditional Minimal Regard says: win by stopping the run and running it yourself.

Here let's look at running it ourselves.

1) If you had to choose one guy out of all our backs--for all around...power, speed, explosiveness, hands, blocking, cutting, durability, everything...who would you choose? Alternatively, how would you rank the guys who we do have this way?

2) Or, if you were to point to one guy who we have who looks like he could re-write the OHIO rushing record back if you made him the main guy, who do you choose?

This isn't to say that you bench all the other guys. It merely points to who should be the lead guy and what the order should be.

Tell me your thoughts here and, then, I'll ask my third key question.

Windham also looked muchbetter I would bet his is the starter next season with a slight push from Sprague and Maxwell. I like how the coaches FINALLY started to get all of these guys some PT that only bodes well for the future.

AJ got to play last year because nobody else could hold onto the ball. That's not the case this year, and we're getting great effort and production out of all our RBs. Today (against probably the worst team we'll face all year) five RBs got carries and combined for 147 yds -- with not one getting more than 49. We're in a great position of being almost too deep at RB.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

All around? That has to be Daz. He has all those skills. AJ is the one that I'd pick for tough yardage situations, and Papi is the most explosive of the group. Dorian and Maleek are both very good, but it's not as clear where they fit in yet. Both are fairly balanced at all the key skills, so I would expect that one or the other will take over for Daz next year, when he's gone, and I believe both have solid careers ahead.

That's a tougher call. In many prior years there has only been one really good back, for example, McRae in 2005-2007. If any of these backs were in that situation, they would be racking up the carries and yards. Since there are so many good ones at the moment, I expect they will continue to share, at least until one proves on the field he is the best.

Irons will end up with more rushing yards than any of these guys when it is all said and done if he remains healthy. Even if the kid is only the full time starter his JR and SR. I asked one of the coaches today out of all the back who do you see going pro he says for sure Irons and that a few others will get free agent deals.

And Papi will blow everyone's doors off with total yards from scrimmage and overall - AND Provitt will be playing regularly on Sundays. Great times ahead - it was cited the struggles of the last 28 games would disappear. Damn straight!
