While I’m not expecting anything Earth shattering, the events of today have me wondering about the next few years.

Our uniform deal with Adidas should expire inside of the next year and the new Nike CEO earned his graduate degree at OU.

The MAC TV deal is over in a couple of years. There are a lot more players in the streaming game now with more getting involved every year, and that along with the current going rate of streaming rights plus the addition of a new school/TV Market in UMass makes me think that will be a decent jump in TV revenue. On OU’s front, enrollment keeps rising.

Additionally, I’m not counting out the MAC adding somebody like a WKU/MTSU still.

It makes me wonder how the MAC will be competing with other G5(G6? Seems like new PAC-12 will not be a power conference) conferences within the next few years? I think we already compete with the CUSA and Sun Belt pretty well. The Mountain West is going to be a shell of its former self. AAC could be plundered by the new PAC-12. In comparison, I like our outlook.

MAC may be able to sublicence to TNT for its next contract instead of CBS Sports which is a tough channel to find. Requires an expensive sports pack subscription most normally. TNT aired a slate on TruTV with the Mountain West and put a new deal together with the Big East. They seem to be a player to keep an eye on in the media future (parent company Warner Brothers/Discovery).

Bowls could change for the MAC. The Boise and Arizona bowls could become PAC-12 vs MWC games so the MAC won't have to go out west. MAC could grow more top heavy like other G5 leagues with the same 3 every year. That is what is the key to the success of the MWC this year its top heavy so easy to run through. MAC hsitorically has more depth in the middle third of the conferene generating less separation.

Revenue sharing should lead to less transfering if it becomes a risk for players to leave that funding by going somewhere else. Risk aslo at the bottom of the roster going somewhere you might not make make the cut.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

I just don't see those 2 coming to the MAC. Would be nice to see my old WR coach (Derek Mason MTSU) but highly doubt Steinbrenner would pull it off.

Why can't we bring a few regional teams up to the MAC? We need markets like Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and a few others. Starting to feel down about the MAC and it's direction.

Curious as to what regional teams from Cleveland, Indy and Pittsburgh Evan “move up”?

I've heard John Carroll is primed for a move.

John Carroll may not even be a school in 5 years. Declining g enrollment and massive debt has them in trouble.
