Greetings all, new to the forum and catching up with Ohio football news. I read in today's messenger that we might be using two QBs...and we all know the old adage..."If you've got two, then you've got none." I support the program through thick and thin, and am hopeful for a bounce-back season. But someone give it to me straight: Is QB play going to be a weakness this year, and if so, how big of one?

Has anyone seen these guys live and up close, Vick in particular, at recent practices/scrimmages?  I would be interested in having someone's straightforward opinion without the fluff. It sounds like a downgrade from Tettleton regardless, no?

I'm a displaced Bobcat but try to get to at least one game per year. Will be in Lexington on Sept. 6.

Thanks for the thoughts all, go Cats!

79--At this stage, we have no genuinely proven qb's.  I suppose if the first guy...Vick...comes out of the gate doing splendidly, then there's your guy.

But, football being a physical game, shouldn't a team always have a back-up or two readied?  So, play at least two guys if game circumstances in any way allow.

In a tangentially related thought (based upon the 'Cats showing fine qb play such that victories), I'd like O H I O fans to start a fine tradition of being in the majority at away games.  Be at kents.

I remember when TT took the controls after playing a little as a Freshman and red shirting his 2nd year. I was at the game in Los Cruces vs NMSU starting his sophomore season. He had earned the starting position but based on his freshman performance no one was real confident.

TT threw a pick early and had some pre-game jitters but went on to solidify his position in the 2nd half and in the next 3 seasons.

So here we are this season with Vick. He is unproven. Last year he was about 170 pounds and got thrown around when he tried to run. I hear he is pushing 200 pounds now , but still has his speed. If he is able to keep his poise and be a run threat, I think he will be ok. I always liked his arm.
