With NIU adding some nice home opponents to the schedule I thought it would be interesting to see how MAC home scheduling compares. What I'm doing is giving each home power conference opponent 2 points and non-power conference 1 points. I've decided to give home games with an AAC, BYU or Army 1.5 points as those are higher than average profile opponents than other non-power conference schools. Ohio ranks 9th in the conference for future non-conference scheduling (31th percentile). There is no reason why we should have for anything less than the 75th percentile of home scheduling in the MAC. Is the football program in the 31th percentile in any other measure? Attendance? Coaching Pay? Wins?

This is interesting to see, but one thing I'd say that needs adjusted is the fact that they are varying numbers of opponents for each team. We've got Northern Illinois' 2022 opponent factored in, whereas most schools don't know or haven't announced an opponent yet. Ohio's average announced opponent is 1.5. Toledo ranks first because of the number of opponents, but its average actually is just 1.5.

Also, I'm not sure how to adjust it, but certainly Toledo bringing in Miami and Missouri is more impressive than UMass getting Boston College or Miami hosting Minnesota.

Sure. I thought we'd rank about 9th out of 13th MAC schools before I compiled this list. What I didn't expect is that we are not that far off the top schools from a future scheduling standpoint. Ohio goes out and signs Memphis (1.5) and Wake Forest (2) and we'd be right up there with the better schools as far as scheduling goes.
