I think that most of us agree that this will be a rebuilding year.  We have so few impact seniors heading into the season.  As the article says we lost a lot of our offense.  If we can win seven, make a bowl, and find a QB that we can feel good about heading into 2015 then it will be a pretty good result as far as I am concerned.  If we can find a QB then 2015 could be a banner year.

Also, as many of you speculated, Bobcatfest must be Joshua Taylor.  Joshua Taylor is is author of this article and the Gruntpunch article arguing for Solich to be let go from a couple of weeks ago.  He is not a professional journalist or journalism student as some or you speculated but apparently a construction worker who likes to write about the Bobcats.

Yes, I'm Joshua Taylor. I love writing great things about OU as I live in Athens and cheer on the bobcats. However, controversial articles are a must here and there that I'm required to do (Solich article). Those page views bring in more money.

Obviously never wanted to offend anyone with the Solich article though. Just simply stated an opinion of him. Yes he has done great things that we all appreciate, but at 70 years old. how much longer do we keep him?

Love to have input from you all, and I have a scheduled interview with Solich next week, hope I can bring a good story to you all.

Welcome back, Joshua. Even when we don't agree with you, free expression of ideas is the American way. On this article, I do agree with your major points.

This season has some potential for upside, though. The defense will be very good, I think, and thus far under Solich, Ohio has won the East in all years when he had a good defense. Second, while the offensive line is young, many of the players who will be back played last year quite a bit, so the offensive line may be better than expected, in which case, the offense will not be moribund. There are enough exciting offensive players returning that if the offensive line can give the QBs time, and open holes, the offense will move the ball.

Thanks! I absolutely understand everyone will not agree with some of my articles. When it comes to the Solich article, I wasn't saying he should be fired immediately. Yes, he turned the program into a winning one, yes he has done great recruiting, facilities and so forth. But yes, I believe it should be time to start thinking about the future. And Solich is not part of the long-term future.

I agree that finding a QB will be key. I know we have Vick and a freshman QB coming in and I hope both are great and we put some points up this year. 

I'd note for down the road that Ohio has offered QB Brett Kean of St. Edward who is entering his sr. year this fall. Kean transferred to St. Edward from University School in Ft. Lauderedale Fla before the 2013 season. He threw 35 TD's and ran for 11 more last year. A number of other MAC schools have offered Kean and Big Ten schools are now looking at him. I think he's a perfect fit for Ohio. St. Edward plays a National schedule so this kid has seen, and will see, many of the best HS teams week in and week out. Heres a video link  from his junior year (click on "view profile" to see video)

Although now playing high school football in Ohio, Lakewood St. Edward quarterback Brett Kean returned to the Miami area last weekend for the South Florida Express 7on7 tryout camp. He also revealed he has added his third offer.
 
Although just in Florida on vacation, Lakewood St. Edward 2015 quarterback Brett Kean participated in last weekend's South Florida Express 7on7 tryout camp. He threw the ball well and impressed onlookers with his accuracy.
Kean, 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, transferred from Fort Lauderdale University School prior to his junior season, and put up big numbers for St. Edward in leading them deep into the Ohio playoffs.
 
"This was great being able to see some old friends and be able to throw the football a little bit," Kean stated. "I'm not really trying out for the team here, but this was a lot of fun. I'm doing everything I can to make myself better for my senior year at St. Edward next year."
 
While in Florida, Kean revealed he added another offer last week, bring his total to three. He was previously offered by Toledo and Western Michigan.
 
"Akron offered me last week," the player reported. "Every offer means a lot to me, and I'm grateful for all of them. I feel people are starting to see how much work I've put in, and what this game means to me."
 
"The Akron offer came about when they came to my school to talk with my head coach," Kean added. "My coach (Rick Finotti) told them good things about me and they liked my film, so they went ahead and issued the offer. We played twice at their stadium last season, and it's great. None of these schools are standing out to me at all yet, and I plan on visiting all three."
 
Kean has also been in contact with Northwestern, Indiana and Illinois, and all three schools will be at Lakewood St. Edward this spring.

My guess is that Burrow will retire out with Solich.

Kean will probably end up going to the Big 10 or the ACC anyway.
