Take a step back everyone.  Can you believe this is really being discussed?

The Ohio Bobcats are a BCS threat.

The writer is a moron anyway.  UTSA is a transitional team and therefore bowl ineligible.  Regardless, they play three FCS teams, two transitional teams and a Division II (!!) team.

It would be good to start racking up some style points over the next few weeks.

We need to go into every game giving each opponent full respect, with our focus on the task at hand and the rest should take care of its self.  We are the hunted now.

The only BCS we need to worry about now is Beat the Crap out of the Spartans.

Indisputably, Ohio is a good team. But is it good enough to beat the crap out of any team on the schedule?  If Ohio is good enough, we'll learn over the next four games.

Yes, I have doubts that Ohio is that good.  Reason for that doubt?  Except for a couple positions, I don't see Ohio's talent being THAT superior to that of MAC opponents.

I continue to believe that Ohio's chief strength is Coach Solich/Staff's ability to maximize the talent available.  Which is a big plus and I'm betting the players recognize and appreciate it.

Hopefully I'll be proven resoundingly wrong, and the Bobcats will shred some upcoming opponents.

I think our offense can put up huge numbers a la NMSU... I'm starting to get concerned teams will be able to keep up passing on our depleted secondary though.

I've seen crazier things happen.

You have to take it with loads of salt -- according to his bio, the guy's ordinary beat is the NBA and the Magic in particular.  No claim whatsoever that he's a football expert or even a novice.

How good some of our upcoming MAC opponents are is unclear now because of the mixed level of competition during Sept.  UMass has been thumped in three games, but they played some decent AQ teams (UConn, Mich) as well as MAC-level Indiana.  It'll be interesting to see how they fare against Fiami this weekend.  Ohio just needs to keep the pedal to the metal.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

For that matter, Notre Dame is an AQ, not a BCS-buster

Having spent a portion of my career in the field of, um, trying to enlighten people with my written words, I am inclined to go easy on Sam. But I can't let one of his comments slide by ...

Ohio can file this one away in their “a win is a win” folder, but the Bobcats know that, in order to reach a BCS bowl — even if they were to go undefeated — they need to crush teams like Marshall, not just squeak by.

I find that statement just so much the gibberish of someone who is uninformed. It's a back-yard brawl, for goodness sakes! And the statement suggests Marshall is the equivalent of (insert MAC doormat here). The T'erd is not a steaming pile!

And speaking of MAC doormats: Sometimes 60 minutes doesn't produce results that suggest they're that bad.

Winning is what matters. Doing it consistently isn't easy -- even for teams with more completeness than OUr own. Style points only count in gymnastics, diving, the X-games, on dates, or if you morph into a political blowhard (an arena where absolutely no substance is necessary to score big!).

The only thing that is a fact is that nothing is a fact.
If this statement is true, it is also false.

Winning gives weight. Style Points give luster... and a lot more people see than weigh!

Yes - We need a couple huge beatdowns - 50'/60's to under/well under 20's (chunk of which come in late vs 2nd stringers) - That gets attention...........
