from profootballtalk.com...

The Patriots had a strong 2010 draft, finding five starters including Devin McCourty, Rob Gronkowski, and Aaron Hernandez.

They swung and missed with their third round pick, though.

The Patriots let go of wideout Taylor Price on Saturday to make room for offensive lineman Nick McDonald. Most teams hesitate to drop a high pick so quickly, but the Patriots aren’t afraid to admit mistakes.  (And the Patriots have had too many lately, especially at wideout.)

Fans wanted to see more of Price because he was faster than the rest of the wideout group, but Price never earned the confidence of the coaching staff. Recent pickup Tiquan Underwood quickly passed Price on the depth chart in November.

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com put it well: “In the end, I think Price arrived as a great athlete that the Patriots hoped would become a great receiver. That transformation never happened, with Tom Brady and Price never able to develop the necessary on-field rapport.

We’d expect a few teams to put claims on Price considering his youth and skill set

He may clear waivers and become a FA, but I think he'll likely be signed. Maybe even by a playoff team looking for some depth. A player let go of the Patriots gets some extra looks by other teams due to their talent pool/depth.

The Browns are in dire need of talent at WR.  I'd love to see them sign Price.

For selfish reasons, I'd love to see Dallas pick him up.  If not, it'd be great to see a former Bobcat come home (but not go to Cinci ).

Let's not make Taylor feel worse than he already does.

Looks like the Jags picked him up.

Ugh...Blaine Gabbert is terrible, even for a rookie.

And so begins the curse of the Paytriots that they will not win a Super Bowl for 45 years.

It's pretty obvious that in New England, if you're not one of Brady's "boys" you're not gettin the ball.  I honestly think Taylor's better off this way (still wish the Browns had been paying attention though).

Brady showed again this weekend that he can't tolerate criticism and needs to be surrounded by yes men.

What no one is writing about, is the fact that it looks like O-Brien (OC) really only got into it with him bc he was in the process of trying to blame a critical INT on the intended receiver (Underwood).  The ball was thrown well behind an open receiver and his first reaction is to get on the receiver.  I applaud that OC for stepping in...

Waivers work in reverse order of record, so even if the Browns had claimed him, the Jags have a worse record and would have been awarded Price.

The Jags are on NFL Network tomorrow night vs. the Falcons.

Taylor Price was the leading receiver for the Jaguars tonight! Only 39 yards, but still the most on the team.

From what I saw of their offense tonight, the Jags' game plan was hand off to Jones-Drew on first and second down and get sacked (and maybe fumble the ball) on third down.  I'm glad Taylor's contributing there, but I hope he gets into a better situation -- either with this team or another.  The current Jags are going nowhere fast.
