Keys to tonight's game

In watching nearly every Ohio snap this year, as well as a number of NIU games, I feel that the biggest key to tonight is to get pressure on the QB. I feel our offense will do fine against NIU's defense, but it will be stopping Harnish (both on the ground and through the air) that will prove difficult.

What are some other keys?

No turnovers - We cannot afford to give them short field

Limit penalties - no freebie 1st downs due to stupid off sides etc...

More specifically...I really think if we come out of this game with no flags on Special Teams, Ohio hangs a new banner in Peden. We have hampered our big play players over and over this year. They don't need much help...Just block clean and let LaVon, TJ & Donte work their magic!

We've got to find an answer for our pass D. We've been picked apart over the past two games, and I suspect Harnish will do the same. With Miami, we managed to stop them in the red zone, but that's a nerve-wracking tactic. I'm hoping we find the inspiration to hit NIU the way we hit Marshall: nonstop from the opening possession with high intensity and relentless attack.

Can't allow Lewis any long kick returns. His two returns against Toledo were the difference in the game IMO.

Whichever team's defense shows up will win the game.

These are two good offensive teams. If either really goes off the other team is toast! I'm hoping for pressure on the QB, a couple of INTs and keeping Harnish's running in check. Gosh, seems like a Christmas wish list!

Let's see..Quarterback pressure-NO

A couple of INTs-NO (maybe 1?)

Keep Harnisch in check-One half, yes...one half, uh...NO

All in all the Defensive effort, while not stellar SHOULD have been good enough to win. Holding them to 23 ain't bad.

Offensively, well let's just say YES, we played well for one half...second half-NO.

Result-ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT FELT BY ALL COACHES, PLAYERS AND FANS
