This football season is the most enjoyable in my tenure as an Ohio fan. It all boils down to having a QB.

After seeing close to 20 years of worm burners, duck snorts, and dying quails delivered by Ohio U. arms, it 's so nice to see a QB who can actually throw the ball. He ain't perfect - pobody is - but he's head and shoulders above all the others I've seen. Sometimes I wonder how Mayle, Price and McCrae would have fared with TT throwing the ball to them.

And it has even been more enjoyable by not reading the regular euphemisms thrown around by others to downplay the shortcomings of their beloved past QBs. Y'know: "game manager", "type of guy I'd want my daughter to marry", "smile that lights up a room", "good Christian", etc. All great qualities - but they should be secondary to "can throw the ball" and "shows poise" - both which TT has shown.

Seriously - I never worry (well, there is the worry embedded in all Ohio fans) when TT has the ball in his hands. Amazing what our offense looks like when it's not seen between fingers.

Again he ain't perfect. I just hope the coaching staff has the tools to help him develop. Have we ever seen an Ohio QB positively progress in the system through multiple years? I trust the staff - but I'm still worried.

One other awesome thing: There was no "two-headed monster" this year. So nice to see one guy get all the snaps (save for a gimmick play or three).

Apologies should go to Kareem Wilson (I didn't like the triple option, but he was good in it) and Theo Scott (injuries curtailed his abilities).

I don't endorse the furry lifestyle, but when the Bobkitten is involved things can change mighty quickly...

Mr. First Street.  Apologies should also go to the coaching staff which has developed TT for multiple years now and has polished his game a great deal.  I remember freshman TT and if he was at all the player we are seeing now he would be in his third year leading the team.   Not sure what coaches Albin and Gdowski need to do, they are the best in the MAC at what they do.

Isn't he a dog who has a boy named Sherman and they travel through time in the Wayback Machine?

I respectfully disagree. One other significant difference is the quality of the offensive line this year. Another is the quality of the receivers. Yet another thing is that the offense seems to have morphed into something that fits the play callers. Give any QB more time and he looks better. Give them receivers that get open, and who catch anything close and that helps, too. Give them the right plays, that also helps.

I'm not knocking Tettleton at all. He has had a great year, and has a great future. I'm just saying that it's more than just the QB.
