Could we possibly get them in a bowl? I don't know enough about how this works. Boy that would be fun.

It all depends on the number of Big Tedozen teams with 6+ wins and the number of teams in other conferences with 7+ wins.  Under the NCAA rules, conferences can use their own teams with 6+ wins to fill their bowl commitments but if they have any left over, teams from other conferences that have 7+ wins get priority over them.  So if O$U winds up 6-6, they could be used to fill the Big Tedozen's bowl commitments.  The Big T has 8 bowl slots, including its automatic bid to the BCS.  At the moment, the Big T has five teams with 7+ wins, three with 6 (including O$U) and two that could still get bowl eligible because they have five wins.  So it sort of depends on the other four teams that have 5 or 6 wins.  The Big T might have eight teams with 7+ wins, so O$U would then be on the waiting list for other bowls.  If the Big T uses a 6-win team to meet its bowl commitments, that would likely be for the Pizza Bowl, which is last on the Big T's list for bowl commitments.  IMHO, I think the Pizza Bowl would love to have Toledo, because they'll bring a bigger crowd than other MAC schools.  And chances of the MAC playing a Big T school in another bowl are mighty slim.  Plus, if the Cats win the East, they likely will go to either Mobile or Boise for their bowl game, neither of which will likely have a Big T team.

After all that, my head hurts, and I'm sure yours does too.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

This has been brought up earlier in the season when Ohio State was struggling. The bowls with ties to the Big 10 do not have to pick in any actual order of finish for their bowls. Because of Ohio State's massive fan base, which means lots of money for whichever bowl selects it, the Buckeyes will never be the eighth selection out of the Big 10 and go to Detroit.

That would be awesome but I agree with UpSan, unfortunately.  I'm hoping for a matchup with a squad like UVA - winning a bowl game and beating a BCS team at the same time is the goal.

A win over UVA would be a nice tune up for next years BCS bowl run. Boise State and Houston are graduating their QBs so yes I think its possible.

It looks like the Big Ten may have 10 teams with 6+ wins. How many Big Ten schools do I anticipate in BCS bowls well lets see, 2 for the SEC (LSU/Alabama), 2 for the Big XII (OSU/OU), 2 for the PAC-12 (Oregon/Stanford). With the Pizza Bowl taking the #8 Big Ten pick it looks very likely they'll take a team to Detroit, probably Northwestern or Purdue. The Pizza Bowl has the #1 MAC selection. Ohio wins the Championship game which is about 50/50 at this point they'll have their pick of bowl games. Otherwise Ohio will end up in the Boise game most likely since we haven't played their yet and it pays well for the MAC participant.

This year with a mediocre season, Tress hangover, lame duck coach, second (or third) tier game, will be a very interesting test of the loyalty of the A&M fans.  It could put the lie to the conventional wisdom. about droves of fans appearing regardless.

On the other hand, we're in kind of the opposite situation.  A team that seems to be improving steadily (again), a string of bowl appearances and, with, any amount of luck and determination, the top bowl postion in the MAC.  Will Bobcat fans show up?

My personal opinion is that the MACC puts a damper on MAC bowl attendance for its participants.  I don't see our fan base making two trips in a month most of the time, let alone two trips to Detroit.
