We are Temple Hear Us Roar
We've been down this road before
And We Know too much to go back an' pretend
Please don't talk about the score
Our feelings are rather sore
We've lost to a winning MAC Program again

Give Temple some credit bringing their A game to Peden Stadium. Coyer had a fantastic game for Temple. Ohio should have won this game by 2 scores. Two missed FG's made the game closer.

Oh no doubt they are a very good team, one of the better teams in the MAC... But so long as they have yet to beat a MAC team with a winning record (they do have Ball State we will see how the cards finish) their bravado is amusing..

My point with Coyer is that they would have won against BG with a performance like that and probably Penn State as well. Temple played a lot better than what they did against BG. Ohio played good but rarely brings out its A game. The only case of that was the first half against Marshall. Tettlleton's decision making rarely is perfect and the Cats usually don't win the turnover battle. i think whats confusing people about Ohio is they don't understand how strong they potentially could be when firing on all cylinders. Far more explosive than in the early Frank years.

Oh, please.  Are we now gonna tie temples to being a quality team by an analysis of the numbers (so many first downs, so many yards per carry, etc).  There's only one stat that matters and tonight, yawn, it was OHIO again, as usual:  35-31.

Is temples a J.C. or a Football Subdivision school?  They aren't D1 apparently.

No, I refuse to take anything away from Ohio tonight by downgrading the other team.  We beat a very good team.  Temple can, and has played tough everyone they played.  We did not beat a JC team tonight.  We beat a very good MAC team.  It was a well played game.  And our boys should feel good about beating a quality team to make themselves bowl eligible.

J.C. reference is why you get trashed at times.

THINK before you post. Coyer had a great game and ran thru our D with ease.

I though both teams played a quality game. There were just two turnovers combined. Both QB's were clutch and there were some big time physical play in the trenches.  Ohio played a great game tonite. They gang tackled on defense and they contained Temple enough to give Tettleton, Harden and Brazil a chance to make big plays. Harden played an excellent game tonite. He delivered the home run play several times. Lots of clutch plays by Foster and others.  Ohio was facing a massive o-line of Temple and skilled QB and backs that run the ball. Ohio for the most part made Temple work for their 31 points. The fake punt was a big breakdown along with a couple blown coverages in the 4th quarter, but Ohio had to sellout to stop the run.  Tettleton showed why he is among the better QB that Ohio has ever had. He showed great patience and he has two more years left at Ohio to likely shatter ever Ohio passing record. He has a lot of Theo Scott in him and you look at clutch QB's at Ohio.

Overlooked here is that we scored the second highest number of points against Temple of any team this season.  Toledo scored 36 against them; we scored 35 against them.  After that it drops off to Penn State at 14 and BUGS at 13.  We scored a ton of points against a very good defensive team.  I believe Russ said that they were something like sixth nationally in scoring defense coming into this game.  Solich is really developing a potent offense at Ohio and we were hitting seven out of eight cylinders tonight.  Watch out when we hit on all eight.  Perhaps in the MACC.  Go OHIO!

Overlooked is that Ohio got nearly twice as many yards against the Temple D as any other team this year. Ohio was over 500 yards of offense; next  best was barely over 300.

I've been nice but enough of this beating MAC Schools with a winning record..
How can you beat a MAC team with a winning record when only 38% of MAC teams have winning records!

In the MAC East last year... only 2 schools had winning records (Not counting Temple).. overall only 5 out of 13 schools in the MAC had winning records...so when you bash Temple for not beating a MAC team with a winning record... you bash your own conference.

Final word.. we beat UCONN last year who played in the BCS.

so let's go back to your Big East days:

Temple joined the Big East in 1991. Since then, only twice have they beaten a conference foe (be it Big East or MAC) that ended up with a winning record:

1998 – they beat a Va. Tech team (28-24) that ended up 9-3;

1999 – they beat a BC team (24-14) that finished 8-4.

this tells me one thing, they can't get excited about conference play. In the Big East, they must have been defeatist, and in the MAC they must assume that it is a given as a former BCS team.

The Big East years were a nightmare...Temple administration gave no support to  Temple football back then.

I think I agree that we dont get as up for conference games...there is an attitude that Temple doesnt belong in the MAC.
My fear was that the Big East would offer Temple an invite on Wednesday causing the Ohio game to be overlooked.  Obviously it didnt matter.. Im frankly tired of losing these MAC games....so conference change until we win the MAC in my mind

With UMass joining, maybe you can convince Richmond, Rhode Island, Dayton, Charlotte and Fordham to move up to 1A.

^^^ Exactly.  0-15....That is 0 wins in 15 tries.  You can't deflect that.

hey, TUVideoGuy is reasonable, has anyone done research on what the other MAC Schools have done since Temple has been in here against winning teams (in other words, are they the only team that has sucked that hard over the same stretch)

I've got nothing against him, but he is wrong on this.  It is an embarassment to Temple and absolutely kills any argument that they are ready for the Big East or some other upgrade.  I haven't done research on what the stat is for other MAC schools...But the difference is other MAC schools don't act like they are above the conference and entitled to something better.

Enough of the Temple-bashing (although I know it's just to get somebody's goat). Fact is, they are a very good football team. We beat them, which certainly doesn't get celebrated by putting them down. In fact, it's as(s)inine.

Meanwhile, we seem to have a problem beating teams with losing records. Didn't go to the MACC last year because we couldn't beat Can't. This year? Buff. And we have some in front of us with losing records. I sure hope nobody thinks those are W's in the bag!
