Looks like the figures are in. Las Vegas has installed the Owl as a 5 point fav over the Bobcat and the infamous weekend party in Athens required 45 ambulances, 50 arrests and featured a 100 man Battle Royale. Impressive Christians, impressive.

Thought Id take a look at a few categories and provide my much awaited Halloween impressions

Quarterback
Both team's qb's have seen sporadic success but given Tyler Tettleton's stats against common opponents and Chester Stewart's benefit of 5 years of academic studies at Russell Conwell's acres of diamonds campus, the Owl gets the nod.
Advantage: "]["emple

Running Back
One might think any running back from Erie at this time of year might have some cosmic, seasonal forces but frankly stein, this comes down to two names and a conjunction. Bernard Pierce and Matt Brown
Advantage: "]["emple

Receivers
Ive respected the collegiate career of LaVon Brazil but at 6'5 and 6"6", the combination of Miller and Streater provide much to ask from a tattered and maligned secondary. Love those adjectives.
Advantage: "]["emple

DLine
Ohio is without 2 key DT's while the Owls have placed 5 employees into the sunday men's league over the last 3 seasons. There's another one to follow in Adrian Robinson and he might not be the best of the family to don the cherry and white
Advantage: "]['emple

Linebackers
Will Keller stay healthy? Even if he's eating his Wheateies, he's not really a Tahir Whitehead is he?
Advantage: "]["emple

Secondary
Ive grown tired examining the Bobcat roster. C Anderson v Ohio 23-39  343 //C Anderson v Temple 9-26  84
Advantage: "]["emple

Home Field
Ohio averages about 19,400 and might sell a hundred more tickets thanks to me stoking this rivalry.
I will be in attendance
Advantage: Push

Officials
The MAC stripes have a way of negating big Temple gains with ghost flags and phantom calls. Dont expect it to be any different Wednesday
Advantage: Ohio

Synopsis:
"]["emple gets 220+ on the ground and demonstrates a competent pass attack

"]["emple 23
Ohio  17

So we hold a 3-1 series lead, beat you much worse then the score indicated last year, yet we have the edge only in officiating?

Seems odd, but again you live in the craphole of America, so that has to do a number on the mind.

Just to be clear, does a Temple fan define a competent passing attack as one where his quarterback throws more completions than incompletions, or one where he complets more passes to his own team than to the opposing defense?

Right on clock, the temples idiot (that's what it says on his degree, apparently) checks in.

Thank you, boa-man, for that genuine big-city, no-attendance gibberish.

You know MH, there were aspects of that note that made sense... but you lost all credibility, pretty much before you even got started, when you reached really really really hard for some phantom reason to give Temple a quarterback advantage. Sorry - you lose badly there.

Temple's running game scares me, no doubt. Your D-line does not. We ran on you last year, we ran on you the year before. We will run on you again. Plus, just the simple fact that Ohio HAS a balanced attack shrinks your advantage here. Matt Brown tore us a new one a couple years back at Peden, but 'twas merely a footnote in a lame 17 point performance.

As for comparing the secondaries... those are good points... We didn't defend Buffalo well at all. However, in the last three years, Temple has proven to be a more solid pick against the lower echelon teams in the conference and that has held up well this year, Ohio has commonly kept bad teams in games or managed inexplicable losses. However, it seems that once a MAC team figured out how to hit you guys in the mouth, you fold like a cheap card table.

What will happen this time around?

The 100 man brawl was in Los Angeles, but I guess I'm not surprised that you struggle with reading.

MH55, Solich has your number, and that's too bad for Temple.  This past Saturday I was in Huntington and watched the Herd beat up on UAB to the tune of 59-14.  I'm not sure if Frank will call off the dogs in the fourth quarter the way Doc did or not.  You better hope so.

55 might be the only temple fan that knows there's a game this week. I took a peak at their board and its full of nothing but threads about whether or not the Big East will ask them to the prom.

reminds of last year when all the chatter was about how BE officials were going to be at the OU game. oops.

By the numbers:

1 - the number of times the Big East has passed over Temple in the past 24 hours (despite an invite being imminent).

1 - the number of football games Temple will lose in the next 24 hours.

Here's the classic number for you, assured to be true in advance:  Win or lose we'll still be OHIO UNIVERSITY in all its glory in Athens, Ohio while the temples boa idiot will still be one persistent moron.

Quarterback
Both team's qb's played well, but Tyler Tettleton made the big plays when needed. Advantage: OHIO - okay,  I could go Push.

Running Back
Brown was contained and Pierce won’t remember much.  Looked like the running back from Erie had some cosmic, seasonal force working
Advantage: OHIO

Receivers
One must continue to respected the collegiate career of LaVon Brazil – big plays – catches for first downs.  Big Time player.   Streater is a beast, Miller was a no show.  Love those first downs.
Advantage: OHIO

DLine
Ohio is without 2 key DT's while the Owls have placed 5 employees into the Sunday men's league over the last 3 seasons. However, the only thing these Owls will be doing on Sunday is giving me fries with my order.  Our D-line dominated their offense line.

Advantage: OHIO

Linebackers
Will Keller stay healthy? Yes – and will dominate.

Advantage: OHIO

Secondary
Streater had his way much of the night and Harden beat linebackers.  But Brazil – 165 – gotta go…
Advantage: Push

Home Field
Ohio averages about 19,400 and they turned out tonight.
Advantage: Ohio

Officials
The MAC stripes were their typical self.  Brazil’s catch should have stood – tough to overturn that.  Harden should have been flagged.  But he would have scored on the next play anyway.
Advantage: Push

Synopsis:
Temple gets only 125 from their running backs and Ohio gains over 540 with a balanced attack.

Ohio  35

Temple 31

Although Tettleton had a great game I'd give he advantage to Coyer -- he had 300+ total yards and ran through our  D like it was swiss cheese. Averaging 11 yards per carry is impressive.

Clearly Coyer was the best third string QB that played today. I wonder if he doesn't start the rest of the season.

See, I think on the read option Ohio was bound and determined that Pierce and Brown weren't going to beat them. If Ohio was going to lose, they were going to make sure the guy who started the season as the third string quarterback was going to be the guy beating them.

And he damn near did it.

Also, a few Ohio secondary players who shall remain nameless looked like cardboard cutouts while making open field tackles. I would not want to be a couple of those DBs when they are in film sessions.
