Why would they not run the ball on that 3rd down play and potentially setup a FG attempt or an easy shot on 4th? With the blitz coming, an audible into a run play would have been perfect. That play was a first down and then some, but Boykin just dropped it. Two runs and a pass that hit him right in the numbers. I dont understand taking out players that are in the zone. Its not like he needed rest he only ran 16 yards. Even without it, no excuse to allow Akron to be 3 of 4 on 3rd down conversions.
