We are halfway "home," BA.com friends -- wherever that home may be. Our defense is beat up and virtually every MAC game is a "crap shoot." Is "double digits" (in the win column) still a possibility?

This post is now yours ...

4-2.  Four games are likely wins, BGSU and Temple are somewhat likely to be losses.  I bet Ohio picks up one of those two and loses one of the other four.

I expected the offense to be good this season, but they've actually exceeded my expectations.  The problem is that the one position group that couldn't afford injuries (DL) has been hit by a ton of them.

Cats still control their destiny.  Prove me wrong about the 4-2, please, and win the division.

I still think we have a very good chance of winning the division, and it improves dramatically if Huynh is able to make it back in time for Temple.  His replacement has certainly done an admirable job stepping in, and put up good numbers, but he isn't quite the physical specimen that Huynh is, requiring the opposition to scheme around him.

I think this team is capable of running the table.  The offense is solid and with Harden back they're a force to be reckoned with.  The D line was the biggest concern going in this season and continues to be.  I was impressed yesterday with the penetration on the goal line stands and the pursuit on end runs.  But they put little pressure on the QB.  The secondary handled the deep routes well, but played off the receivers too much and were burned with the quick hitters.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

Let's hope it not 4-2, that would make us 8-4 and possibly out of the bowl picture. Good chance an 8-4 mac team will be left out again this year. If both us and wmu finish 8-4 no way we get an invite over them.

The D line will (should) determine our success or lack of same the rest of the way. With a healthy Huynh it's a no brainer.  Keller seems off as well so that's another possible fly in the ointment. We should be able to get some kind of pressure on the QB.......we've used Barber........Meyers had about zero stats yesterday so what's up with that....I thought using  LBer Blake Jones in the pass rushing scheme was a good idea.......he's not tall but has good instincts.......is quick and has some girth.

We also miss Xavier Hughes in the secondary. Hopefully his absence will be short lived.  The X factor may be the true freshman but I don't think they made an appearance yesterday.  Crutcher has the size for the middle and Purdum and Davis should be able to get some QB pressure.......especially Davis.

Just back from Buffalo.

The only thing known at this point is that Ohio>Kent, everything else at this point is pure speculation.

(Inappropriate comments have been thought but not spoken--Momma's rules, about not having anything good to say)

But really it is no criticism of the kids, coaches or refs.  Give credit to Buffalo because they have the better QB, running back, receivers, OL, DL and secondary.  Ohio wins big in the special teams while the bands both were entertaining.

1-5  That performance at Buffalo really discouraged me.

4-2 or 5-1 depending how fast the defense gets healthy. Cannot give up that many points and expect to win even if you score that much and can score quickly. Could run the table, but Temple looks pretty tough again and they want revenge!

..........and what was the call straight up the middle on 1st Down and then on Second Down again 5 yds from the end zone? They lost the game right then as they had to settle for a field goal!

Are you going to homecoming Cat4Ever? I probably will go, but cannot find enough time to memorize the music to march in the Alumni Band. Might be fun to just be spectator for a change and listen to over 500 on the field blowing their brains out instead of being one of them.

If you've never watched, it is quite a sight and sound.  I think I counted over 35 tubas last year.  I will miss it greatly this season...

We are heading to Athens with the granddaughter who has aspirations to go to "Papa's school." Hope to see you there, Kim.

Cat4Ever: We should hook up for brewski while you are in town. I will be getting in on Friday and staying until Monday as the flights out on Sunday are really expensive. Not marching in the alumni band as I said before, no time to memorize the music, but really looking forward to seeing and hearing it. First time I will be able to listen to it since I have always marched in it.

Easy solution. Just follow Floyd the Barber's example from The Andy Griffith Show and pretend playing an instrument while marching with the 110 alumni band.

Little bit disappointed SBH and/or cc cat didn't beat me to it.

I remember seeing that episode and what is more ironic with the whole thing is that I play trombone like Floyd the Barber. LOL
