It now appears that in addition to our poor defense both our offense & specials teams is following suit.
Where is the O line? We haven't been able to dominate anyone since the Rutgers game.
Where are the special teams? You remember,  they were picks as #1 in the conference.
We are now at a point where we are in deep trouble of things spiraling out of control.
We did not seem to start the game with much energy and that set the tone for the day.
What happened to the team that was so pumped up for Marshal?
Now we have lost 3 out of the last 4 and the out look for the balance of the season is not looking good.
So much promise after September 3, and 10, & 17.
Now reality has set in. We are just  mediocre.
Whatever the balance of the season holds, I will be disappointed with what could have been.
I will continue to cheer.
I will not give up.
I am true to my team.
I am though very disappointed.

GO BOBCATS

I agree with what you say 71.  Very disappointed, but not giving up.  Relentless forever!

I think we're just playing possum for Temple. When they lose to us we'll each have 2 MAC losses but OHIO will have the tie breaker. All we have to do is win out and we're in the MACC.

It's all part of the master plan.

Go OHIO.

Shh . . . Frank doesn't want anyone else to know about this master plan.  Please keep your mouth shut.  Loose lips sink ships, guy.

Just got back from the game. Most boring game I've witnessed in the last 50 years. This team doesn't have any fire. They act like they just don't care. Let the ball drop inside the 5 yard line on punts three times in a row is inexcusable.
Boring offense, the only I woke up from my many naps were on the two long passes for touchdowns. First I've seen in three games. Throwing 1 yard swing passes out in the flat from your own seven yard line was stupid. They all should have been pic sixes.
Run up the middle twice on 2nd and 15 were super calls they got 1 yard and 2 yards respectively.

I can only see one more win this season (Akron) if we play this way. Winning the East is now next to impossible.
Same ol same ol for me after watching my Bobcats since my Freshman year in 1961.

If you look at the standings, what we have left are:

@Akron (0-2, 1-5)
bye
Temps (3-1, 5-2)
@CMU (1-2, 2-5 -- lost at home today to EMU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
@BGSUCKS (1-2, 3-4)
Fiami (1-1, 2-4)

Akron should be a lock, even though they have this week off.  They aren't good at all.

By the time Temps rolls around, we should have Omar and maybe Huynh back.  In the meantime, the D is getting better.  BSU is a much better team than Buffalo and had something to prove after consecutive shellackings.  Not only did OU's D give up 15 fewer points this week, they came up with two very nice stops in the 4th quarter today.  Given the injuries, they've performed well.  Nevertheless, they need to improve on pressuring the QB and tackling.

The only real problem with the offense today was turnovers, but two of those were tipped balls and the third was when Harden maybe tried to do too much, although it looked like he might have been held up and prevented from going down.

You're right, special teams is suddenly a big concern.  A blocked punt and two blocked kicks in the last three weeks.  Plus, Hershey hasn't played with the abandon (don't want to say reckless) that he did last year.

I've been wondering if this squad isn't a nighttime team.  The first three games were at night: 3-0; outscoring the opponents 118-34.  The last four games were day games: 1-3; outscored 119-100.  Four of the last five games are night games, and the lone day game should be a win.

Preseason expectations are always a little high and are usually rattled as the season rolls along.  The expectations for last season were that it was going to be a "dream season" but few could have predicted that Brazill, Keller and Moore would all go down in the first two weeks.  This year, we all knew the D line needed work, but we weren't expecting two key parts of the secondary (Leftwich and Hughes) to go down.  This team can still go 9-3, can still win the East, can still win the MAC and can still play in a bowl game.  Whether or not they wind up with the kind of record that we expected two months ago, if they do all those things (or even just two of the last three) that will be as close to a "dream season" as we should expect from a team with a sophomore QB and a young D line.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

The difference is that most mac teams play much tougher OOC than Ohio does. Those teams almost always play tougher toward the end.

Would someone remind me what our weak scheduling philosophy is supposed to achieve anyway? It seems to do nothing but provide a false sense of achievement and mask weaknesses that should be resolved much earlier in the season. It certainly hasn't helped reduce injuries, and it doesn't provide as much revenue.

I want to drink what you're drinking.  Look at BSU's third-down conversion percentage in quarters 2 and 3.  Look at how pathetic our pass rush is - not even CLOSE to putting pressure on the QB.  He stood back there all day with no need to hurry passes.  Keller never came close either.

If not mistaken Keller was in on 15 tackles; high for the Bobcats.

Did you see him blitz 7-8 times?  Notice how close he got to their QB?  Notice how many missed tackles he had?
