I know this game has a tight line but when Ohio trots out the full playbook this is a substantially better team than what Marshall can put on the field. Marshall's offense in recent years had one nice back to build an offense around and I'm not seeing it this year. They've averaged 87.4 rushing ypg this year. Ohio's averaging 237 ypg running the football and that mark is 20th in the country. I would not be shocked if the team was able to take Marshall to the woodshed.

Spread is 2.5. I think we would all agree that we expected a close spread.
Like Frank said recently the team will be up for this one but we need to polish our game.
He chooses his words carefully.
I think this game will be very competitive and will be a good game to watch.
I only wish I could be there.
Now I wonder since it's on the local Huntington station whether it will be picked up nationally on some format, either the DirecTV Sports Pack or the ESPN Game Plan. If anyone knows please pass along.

I've yet to see anywhere but this thread that the game will air on WSAZ... what's the source on that, Ted?

I do know the game will be available through ESPN3 if you can get that through your internet service provider -- it is listed on ESPN3 as an exclusive game at the moment.  Those are low-level productions by ESPN (though the quality is typically better than what I've seen out of WSAZ) and aren't generally available through GamePlan.

If WSAZ is producing it, the chances of it being on GamePlan may go up a tick.  GamePlan channels typically come out Thursday or Friday, at which point I could give you a definitive yes or no on that (or keep an eye on my pinned thread).

I guess none. For whatever reason, I had WSAZ televising this game. Maybe it was conjecture? I'll change it.

Haha possibly.  They've done it in the past, but I was checking their listings and both athletic sites to no avail.  (As I mentioned above, though, the ESPN3 exclusives I've watched this year have been decently produced from a video standpoint (haven't listened to the play-by-play).

I'm expecting a hard fought game, with some fierce action in the trenches. I think Oho wins by 10 though, and calling it Ohio 27-17.

Based on "seats available" numbers from the online ticketing website, there are 3,615 unsold at the moment.  Hope gameday sales are brisk and students fill their allotment and perhaps overflow into the reserved sections on that side.

Bought season tix today. Student on the phone told me that today was a good day for sales and that it should be a sellout by game day.

Super 8 purports to have rooms.  I've never been inside, so can't comment on the quality of accomodations.  I do know it took some damage in last September's tornadic storm.

marshall is stating on their website that their allotment is sold out but marshall fans can buy tickets through Ohio. Hope they don't buy too many of them.

Last I heard is that we are expected to have somewhere around 8-10K there. Not sure how accurate that is but I read that on another message board. We sold our allotment and supposedly a lot of Marshall fans are buying tickets through OU. Looking forward to the game. Should be fun as always. Good luck.

From what I've read Marshall did not sell their allotment, and returned approximately 500 tickets.  You can't really blame the herd fans for wanting to save a buck or two by purchasing them directly from our athletic department for $10 a piece.  So it will be tough to estimate exactly how many will be there on Saturday, and I expect them to be scattered throughout the stadium.  I'm definitely looking forward to renewing the rivalry and hope I don't re-live some past experiences I've had with the herd faithful.

Fun fact, I am Jack Lengyel's first cousin twice removed.

I'm hoping for a very lively Peden atmosphere and a Bobcat blowout. The Ohio sideline hauls ass to the bell at all zeroes.

3,380 now.

Sidenote: Are we really promoting ourselves as, "undefeated" on the splash page?  I mean, I guess we are 2-0... just like 53 other teams in FBS.

From the Gold Sheet

OHIO 26 - Marshall 20—Impressed with Marshall’s upset of Southern Miss,

keyed by true frosh QB Cato (275 YP, 3 TDs).  However, Ohio U. has covered

7 of last 10 at Peden Stadium.  Herd not exactly “road warriors,” as Marshall has

covered just 1 of last 7away from home.  Resourceful HC Solich owns better

special teams, plus tackling machine LB Keller will take away run option, forcing

Cato to produce on the road.

Better special teams?  Not so fast!!!  Whitehead punted 8 times last week, pinning 5 of them inside the 7 yard line, two on the goal line, leading to a safety on the next play.  Even with the short field punting, he averaged 43.  We blocked a punt as well.  Also, we averaged something like 35 yards per kickoff return.  Also, punt return TD against WVU.  The one downside: WVU's 103 yard kickoff return for TD (aided by three blatant blocks in the back, two of which were at the point of attack.  Not whining, I promise.  Should have been stopped anyway, as there were two badly missed arm tackles.

Agree OU might well be able to stop the run.

Is Keller going to play?  I thought he was "questionable" whatever the hell that means?

I can see where that might be confusing for a Marshall fan so let me attempt to clarify...

In Noah's case what this means is that he has an injury that resulted in him being held out of the previous game to better his chances of being 100% for this one because he has singled out this game as being a focal point of his Senior season.  This is something you should be very concerned about if he is indeed healthy enough to play.

What it doesn't mean is that he's questionable due to the fact that he may or may not be released from jail prior to the game...

Wow Bobcat, pretty low blow there.......considering Troy Evans was released and is completely innocent.   My take on all this is simple.....it won't matter who you guys have playing or not playing.   Vinny Curry is going to destroy your QB, and Rakeem Cato is going to embarrass your defense.    I mean really,  you guys have beat us 1 time in something like 20 yrs......
