This is meant to bring us together as fans and please no smack talk..

What is your favorite moment in this rivalry?

Mine would have to be the pizza bowl.. now I have been to quite a few of these games but most were when I was little so I don't have the memory.. but the pizza bowl was my first bowl game and my 21st bday eve lol.

That missed field goal many Bobcat fans still SWEAR was good.

Randy Moss catching the TD pass to break some record and then chucking the ball out of the stadium and into the McDonald's parking lot across the street.

And Greg White wearing makeup.

The only Ohio football game I attended in person as a student, 1987, an Ohio victory, and the only one that season.  I believe fans remaining at the end of the game rushed the field in an attempt to tear down the goalposts.  I went to the CI for beers on the Ledge of Judgement.

The Ohio-Marshall basketball game I attended with my father after flying into Tri-State airport when I was on leave during my stint in the U.S. Navy.  After the game my Dad drove us home to Athens.  It was, as I recall, around Christmastime.

My favorite Battle for the Bell memory was in 1997 (I believe) when OU thought they had a chance to beat The Herd in Huntington and they didn't even cross the 50 yard line the entire game. Of course OU was shut out.

My second favorite memory was when Jon Goddard ran wild against OU in Athens. He made more defensive plays and pretty much won the game for Marshall. Rest in Peace my friend.

Fall of 2000......it was my Freshman Year and I missed the early part of the 1st quarter driving back from Belpre.  We had the game on in the car, listening to Derek Scott on Power 105 and took the lead early.   As I recall we had control of the game from start to finish.  This capped off a 7-4 season, where I believe that our worst loss was by 13 to WMU and really made an early season loss to the Zips all the more painful.  But hey, I mean a lot of teams lose a game on a "roughing the snapper" penalty right? .

The future was looking bright for 2001 with so many returning players.  I think most of us know the story from here....

For me it was 1972.

Marshall comes to Peden for the first time since  "the crash".

Final home game of the season.

The 110 Marching Men of Ohio open their half time show by "funking" onto the field for the first time and openning with what the announcer called an unofficial state anthem,"Take Me Home Country Roads" by John Denver.

I remember John Goddard.  Truly was a great player for the Herd.  Didn't realize he passed away either.

For me it's the 2000 season.  Grobe leads the Cats to a 7-4 record including a win at the Metrodome against Minny and capping off the season with a win against Marshall, by I think it was ten.  Completely agree that it's a shame that we went those couple of years without playing Marshall.  I guess I can tolerate you guys for 1 week a year.

Two:

1. After we beat them when Grobie was still here, and Bob Pruett told Keith Morehouse after the loss when they were setting up to do the weekly Marshall recap show, "Hurry up and let's do this before they turn the scoreboard on and Ohio starts kicking our a** again." Yes, it's a paraphrase and no, I'm not making it up.

2. On our multiple trips south when I was on the OSN radio crew being told by Marshall's press box personnel that the easiest way to relieve yourself during the game - especially halftime - was to go out and take a leak on the roof of the press box, because the elevators (that also stopped at the luxury box level) would be too busy. And I'm nothing if not a good listener.

Today.

My wife works at Marshall. She is wearing a Bobcat shirt to work. This is why I love her.

Kudos to Mrs Money!

For the record, mine works at A&M and she wore Bobcat gear the Friday before last year's game...I agree, it's that sort of thing that really showcases true love...

Had no clue John Goddard died.  Wow.  Sad.  That guy owned us in that game.  There are very few individuals or individual efforts from opponents I remember.  He is and will always be one of them.

I remember thinking after the win in 2000 that OU football was finally on stable, permanent-winning-program ground.  Oops.....

And, D.A. -- That 1987 game was my first ever Ohio football game.  And, while I don't remember exactly I'd wager good money I was in the CI (as well as a few other places) afterwards.  Didn't need much of a fake ID back in those good old days.

Add Paul Toviesi to that list for me.  Always surprised he never caught on in the league more than he did.  He was always in our backfield.

That was a dominant performance by the Herd in 1997, but we definitely crossed the 50. Hookfin broke off one big run and was taken down inside the 20 I think, but the drive stalled on a failed 4th down. I think we also had a long fg miss in there somewhere. I never understood that Bobcat team - they were ridiculously dominant for about 7.5 games, and then they just came apart, nearly losing to (at the time, complete doormats) NIU and Akron, then getting smoked by Miami.

Re that Miami game.  All-MAC DE Andre Jackson out with an injury and Hookfin suspended for the game didn't help.  Jackson's replacement was noticeably slower, and Miami repeatedly took advantage of the replacement's inability to contain sweeps to his side.  As I recall Ohio closed to 24-21 after which Miami blew the Cats out of the county.
