44-7 over a backyard rival is never something to put your nose up at.  We won because we had better preparation, experience, emotion, and best of all execution.  I also think Marshall was practically going into this game blind because of the vanilla offense of games 1-2.  We were the better team, but I wonder if we were THAT much better.

We shouldn't expect the same this weekend.  Rutgers will know exactly what we are capable of from watching the Marshall film.  They are a better team than Marshall was and will be playing in front of a home crowd.  We should celebrate the hell out of that game, but come next week, it HAS to be all business again.

We can't go to Rutgers thinking we're a top 25 team; we just need to play like it.

I don't think there's any way we get overconfident going against Rutgers. I expect we'll be very focused. I'd be more worried if we were playing a weak team at home next week.

Last night's game reminded me of our loss to Troy in the bowl game.  No way was Troy that much better than us.  I think Ohio is better than Marshall this year, but not 37 points better.

You know, at halftime I went to get something to drink in the vain hope of salvaging part of my voice and for some reason I thought this looked EXACTLY like what they did to us last  year.  I said three words to myself (yes, I was talking to myself):

"THANK YOU TROY"

The real thanks should go to OUr Coaching Staff.  Coach Solich has shown time and again that he's more than willing to forgo ego in the best interests of the program.  He has on more than one occasion purposely set out to improve his skill set and as such his teams, by building relationships and making visits to other programs.  I'm SO glad he's at the helm...

I think Tyler has a more humble mind state than our qb's in the past few years.  So, I dont think over confidence will be a problem. He also has an excellent command of the offense and he takes care of the ball. Hopefully, he'll keep our guys focused and get the job done at rutgers. The line has opened at OHIO +4.

After the way we got beat the last time we played RU i don't think overconfidence will be an issue.
I hope the Cats come out looking for revenge for that loss.

I still remember 1 RU fan saying after that game "I don't know if we're that  good,or you guys are just bad."

Now if only some one could get the 110's buses to head Northeast instead of to Bellbrook.

That was 2006. Rutgers was a very good team that year, and Ohio was a bowl-bound team. Defensively we had more than enough stops and takeaways to give us a chance but the offense was non-existent after the first quarter. Rutgers couldn't throw on us, but when they lined up and ran at us with Ray Rice, they controlled the clock and the game. I don't think this Rutgers team is nearly as good as that one in 2006. I *think* we are significantly better offensively. We have to win this game to be taken seriously in any way on a national level. That's all there is to it.
