NMSU up 28-14 at the end of the third
Marshall tied with USM with 5 to go in the third

I think we beat both Marshall and Rutgers

Minn down 28-21 with under 30 seconds left.  Makes me wonder how good USC is, since they beat the Gophers by only 2 at home.

I thought NMSU showed a real lack of class at the end of the win over Minn.  The game was stopped for about 15 minutes when Jerry Kill suffered a seizure on the sideline with 20 seconds left in the game.  After he was stabilized and carted off the field, the game resumed and Minn's final pass fell incomplete.  With stadium still in a hush because of Jerry Kill, NMSU started celebrating on the sidelines including a gatorade bath for the coach.  When time ran out, there was a lot of chest-bumping by NMSU players, as the Minn players wandered around in a daze.  The NMSU coach made no effort to get his players to cool it.  Given the circumstances, they should've saved the celebration for the locker room.

What do you want them to do? Thats a big win for that program. Its not as if they were celebrating the coaches seizure or anything.

Who cares how big of a win that was; when you've got somebody whose life appeared to be in jeopardy, celebration is uncalled for.  They could show some respect for what just occurred on the field.  The stadium was dead quiet for 15 minutes while the paramedics attended to Coach Kill.  At the time, nobody was sure what his condition was.  They should've shown some common sense and some compassion for the Minnesota players, fans and for Coach Kill and his family.  Shake hands, get off the field and do the celebrating in the locker room.  It was bush.

A bunch of non-BCS 20 year olds got excited they beat a Big 10 team on the road...I don't find anything inappropriate about that.  And I would bet my house that had Minnesota come back to win they would have been celebrating.

your talking about a school that has its visiting team use a tailgate tent for a locker room, has a mascot that glorifies hand guns, and has a fight song with lyrics like "... we'll buy a keg of booze and we'll drink to the Aggies till we wobble in our shoes".

I don't think being classy is a priority of theirs.

All three points you bring in your defense are irrelevent.  If they are on the road the lockerroom status of their visiting teams means nothing.  The hand gun status of their mascot means nothing.  The lyrics of their fight song mean nothing.

I admire coach Kill and wish him the best but I think this is much adoo about nothing.

In the post-game interview, Frank was very distressed when Russ told him about Kill.  He said Kill was a good friend.  He was also pleased to hear about the NMSU win.  Not sure what he would have thought about the celebration under those circumstances.

I thought they acted appropriate...They were on their knees while Coach Kill received attention.  Addtionally, according the CBS Sports, the players were aware of Coach Kill's previous seizures/health problems and probably were aware his situation wasn't life threatening.  I don't see an issue here.

"According to Minnesota RapidReporter Dana Wessel, Kill has a history of seizures after his battle with kidney cancer, and this latest episode kept him on the field for 15 minutes before he was carted off. Kill's condition had been made known to the players long before this incident, according to quarterback MarQueis Gray, and considering Kill suffered a seizure during a game in 2005, it'd be hard to keep the disorder a secret."

First, Kill has a history of seizures.  We had a coach in high school who had them fairly often. It was sad to see but not life threatening. NMSU won in an upset. They deserved to celebrate .... on the field.  If you expect 18-21 year old kids to suppress emotions when they win a game they were not supposed to then you're clueless.

The biggest things I'm coming away with from today is that the Cats are the real deal. NMSU is turning out to be a decent WAC team so that win was validated. The Cats showed consistency against Gardner Webb putting up almost the same yardage rushing and passing as in game 1 but at the same time cutting down on mistakes. The improvement that we would like to have is shown. Going to the future opponents, I'm not real impressed with Marshall or Rutgers. Marshall did pull out the win at home against Southern Miss but USM in its first game had to hold on against LaTech winning by 2. What we are seeing is a pretty average Marshall team without much of a rushing offense. They looked like crap against WVU. So Miss just isn't very good. On Rutgers my feelings are much the same. Rutgers didn't get the win against UNC, granted they had a nice showing but didn't look overly impressive. I'd give the Cats at least a 50-50 chance up in New Jersey. On some of the others, Kent State looks very flat, I'm not sure what to think of BG yet, Temple is going to contend in the East, Toledo looks like the best team in the West stacking up against Ohio State and has Northern Illinois at home. Miami's performance against Missouri was diminished by ASU's upset. I think we can win the East as the Temple looks like a carbon copy of the past 2 seasons, good rushing, limited passing. Toledo is going to be a load up in Detroit but we have an offense built to challenge the top MAC teams now.

I saw most of the NMSU players in a moment of silence huddle.....looked pretty respectful to me.

Obviously that NMSU win was big as far as a measuring stick for Ohio thus far in 2011 but I also genuinely enjoyed these two scores when I saw them on the ticker...

Clemson 35 - Wofford 27

LA Lafayette 20 - Kent 12
